Great hitch. Goes on easy, removes easy. Only problem is we use it on a 5 car trailer and I have to remove it to pull the car under the 5th wheel plate.

- Standard 2-5/16 in gooseneck hitch balls
- Short-bed trucks that need more clearance between truck and trailer when towing
- Measurement from bottom of the king-pin plate to top of the hitch ball when trailer and truck are level: 11-3/4 in (when adapter is collapsed) to 14-3/4 in (when adapter is extended)
- Required clearance between the overhang of the trailer and the top of the side rails of your truck for safe operation: 5 in or 6 in
- Trailers with standard or extended pin box
  - Extended pin box can be no longer than 24" (measured diagonally)

Do gooseneck adapters work 5th wheel?

A 5th-wheel-to-gooseneck adapter plate can be installed into the gooseneck hitch, providing a set of 5th wheel rails that can then accept a 5th wheel hitch. This type of connection may require more components, but it allows a single truck to pull both types of trailers.

Can you pull a gooseneck trailer with a fifth wheel hitch?

If you have a fifth-wheel trailer hitch already installed in your truck but want to tow a gooseneck trailer, you're not out of luck. You can choose from two kinds of adapters to help you. One option is to replace the inner pipe on a standard gooseneck coupler and have a fifth-wheel king pin at the base.

Why do campers use 5th wheel and not gooseneck?
