This lift component mounts outside of the factory strut and so avoids stiffening the suspension. We tried this design with the IFS Jeep strut system and absolutely hated the ride quality. The exterior strut setup doesn't pre-load your spring, so you get full smooth factory ride quality with no worries on ball joint or control arm complications. Our exterior strut design is also a bonus for those do-it-yourselfers who want to try their hand at their own installation. Since our system does not require disassembly of the strut, you can do install the lift in your own driveway with standard hand tools. When... not if, but when the factory ball joints wear out (which they do on stock height Jeeps as well), you must buy entire new control arms from Jeep to replace just the ball joint. This means they are incredibly expensive to service and repair. RRO kits allow you to simply change out the ball joint with high quality MOOG (or other) ball joints found at any auto parts store. The contorl arms also provide a slight reposition of the strut assembly to allow for better tire clearance when you move up in tire size. This also makes the Jeep easier to align once a suspension lift is installed. Just a really great suspension upgrade, easy to do while you have things apart installing your lift system.
