Sometimes the most memorable vacations are those experienced with our four-legged friends. Many resorts, hotels, and motels in Myrtle Beach now allow pet parents to bring their pet along. More than just allowing pets, many hotels offer pet amenities, ranging from snacks at check-in, to water and food bowls in the rooms.

Myrtle Beach is a popular tourist destination because of its beautiful beach, known as the "Grand Strand." Miles of uncrowded beaches combined with Southern Low Country cooking and friendly locals make it a great place for a vacation.

Pet parents should be aware of the many large motorcycle events the city hosts, as it can be quite noisy. Several bike week events are held in May and another in early October.

Before you go, always check with the accommodation about what "pet-friendly" means. Some allow any pet; some restrict it to dogs. Some restrict the size or breed of dogs allowed, and some charge cleaning fees and/or a nightly pet surcharge.

Most properties require you to reserve a pet-friendly room in advance, as some have limited numbers available and do not allow pets in all room types. A crate is recommended if you plan to leave the dog(s) alone in the room. Of course restrictions and charges never apply to ADA-recognized service animals, which are always welcome (by law) at every hotel.
