How to Replace the Liftmaster backup battery

1. Disconnect power to opener.

2. Using a Phillips head screwdriver, remove the battery cover on the motor unit. This is usually underneath the light cover.  Consider removing the light bulb to avoid any accidental breakage.

3. Slide the old battery out to the point where you can remove the connector wires from the terminals. Remove the battery and set aside for proper disposal with a certified battery recycling facility.

4. Partially insert new battery into motor unit with terminals facing out.
