PARKING in St Augustine – the Ancient City … how you can get the best deal!  Click here to go to the City of St Augustine official website.

The City of St. Augustine will launch a pilot program at the Historic Downtown Parking Facility beginning on Monday, July 18, which will provide those who wish to park in the parking garage the option of using the ParkStAug mobile app or a payment kiosk to pay for parking.  Click here for details.

(Note: Parking in City-Owned parking lots and on-street parking is free on all national holidays, such as Memorial Day, except for the Castillo de San Marcos and the Historic Downtown Parking Facility. Drivers are urged to confirm if a lot is owned by the City of St. Augustine and not a private operator as many of those lots have strict towing policies.  And click here (SJC FB site)for shuttle info for Memorial Day weekend.)

Parking  On street parking is available near the Plaza and is free throughout the city after 5:00pm and national holidays and Sundays, except for the Castillo de San Marcos which is enforced seven days a week. Parking is also available in the Historic Downtown Parking Facility map (HDPF), 10 S. Castillo Dr., located at the St. Augustine Visitors Information Center, a 10-minute walk along St. George St. from the Plaza. The cost for parking in the HDPF is $15 per entry or $3 with the ParkNow app.  And the meters are just .50 vs $2.50! ParkStAug  For St. Johns County residents, the ParkStAug app will honor a resident discount automatically, once you register online at ParkStAug. You will be asked to provide proof of residency, and within 14 business days (or less), the resident discount will be applied to your account when you log in to the app and use it to pay to park.

There are only three amateurs on a team with your pro being the fourth, and you’ll play in an actual scramble event, getting to play off your pro’s ball or that of the amateur. 11/6 Military Tribute to our Fallen Heroes – Faith Community Church – 1pm (also need volunteers)

There will be a Military Tribute to our Fallen Heroes will take place on Sunday, November 6th at 1 pm at Faith Community Church, 3450 CR210w, St Johns FL 32259. 351 crosses honoring our fallen soldiers from Florida with each cross having name of soldier who passed.and 8 large crosses honoring all who have died for our country. There will be a speaker from Tunnel to Towers and during the program a bell will be rung for each Florida soldier and music. Light refreshments will be served. There is no admission fee. Sponsored by Faith Community Church, Boy Scout Troops 718/464 and Helping Hands of St Johns County.

After over 2 years of cancelations due to Covid, the Field of Heroes Memorial will return to St Johns County with a ceremony on Sunday, November 6th at 1pm. A Field of crosses is erected with one cross for each Floridian Service member who was killed in Iraq or Afghanistan. Additional large crosses are erected to honor those who died in WWI, WWII, Korea, and the Vietnam War. This year, a memorial will recognize the “Forgotten 13” who perished protecting the Pathway to Freedom on August 26th, 2021 during the US evacuation of Kabul, Afghanistan.

Erecting these crosses is a lot of work. If you can volunteer a few hours on Saturday 10/29 (9am) or Sunday 10/30, any assistance would be welcomed. Bring a sledge hammer if possible. Thank you to all our veterans for your service to this country. We could not enjoy our freedom today without all of you. 11/11 1940’s USO Canteen Dinner-Dance – OLGC – 5:30pm (Advance tickets 10/21)

This year’s big event is a 1940’s USO Canteen Dinner-Dance featuring a Chicken Parm with Pasta dinner, dancing to your favorite tunes of the 40’s and 50’s and a “USO Floorshow” featuring local editions of America’s Sweethearts – the Andrew Sister sing-a-likes and a crooner with “old blue eyes.” The décor will be “USO Canteen a la WWII” and period costumes are welcome. This event is a fundraiser for OLGC’s Veterans Support Group and is hosted by the Men’s Club, Ladies Guild and Veterans Group. (OLGC (Our Lady of Good Counsel) is located on SR16)

Tickets are $30 per person and round tables for eight persons are available for $240 per table. Advance ticket sales will take place at OLGC Church on Friday, October 21st, from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. Cash and checks are accepted. 11/19, 12/17 Live From The Waterworks – Gamble Rogers Concert Series – doors open at 7pm

Gamble Rogers Folk Festival and St. Johns Cultural Council have partnered to present a new concert series, Live from The Waterworks, celebrating the legendary recording artist Gamble Rogers, whose balladry and storytelling shaped American folk music. Events will be held on the third Saturday of each month from October through June. Purchase tickets for the first three concerts.

Concerts are limited to 100 seats at each concert at The Waterworks, 184 San Marco Avenue in St. Augustine, Florida. Doors for each show open at 7 p.m. and the opening act will start at 7:30 p.m.

Luminary Night will be held on December 7th this year, from 6 – 9 pm.  A family-friendly tradition during the Nights of Lights festival.  Families around the community will light their luminaries.  More than 2,000 luminaries are displayed throughout the grounds and on the streets surrounding this historic landmark, creating a magical holiday experience. Lights and holiday décor also adorn the 1876 Keepers’ House and other historic buildings on the property.

Luminary Night 12/7 is a community event open to the public for one night and one night only.  Come to this event that is free to the public.  See the trees, the luminaries lit up, climb the lighthouse if you wish … a great family event.

Lighthouse Illuminations is a ticketed event.
