What time did the steelers game end today

"Monday Night Football" in Week 12 features a matchup of two sub.-500 AFC teams as the Steelers and Colts go head-to-head in prime time.

MORE: Live updates, highlights from Steelers vs. Colts

The Steelers have one of the worst records in the AFC at 3-7. Pittsburgh was on the wrong end of a back-and-forth affair with the Bengals in Week 11, falling 37-30 to their division rival. Najee Harris rushed for 90 yards and two touchdowns, while rookie quarterback Kenny Pickett threw for 265 yards and a TD.

On the other side, the Colts enter Week 12 with a 4-6-1 record. Indianapolis led for the majority of the game against Philadelphia last week, but a late touchdown by Jalen Hurts pushed the Eagles to a 17-16 win. It was the first loss for Colts interim head coach Jeff Saturday in his second NFL game as a coach.

Time is ticking for both teams to make a final push for the playoffs. They desperately need a win Monday.

The Colts found themselves moving down the field in the final minutes with a chance to at least force overtime against the Steelers, but what happened next will surely be a talking point in the days and weeks ahead.

Indianapolis passed on using any of its three timeouts after a Matt Ryan scramble in the final minute, losing nearly half the remaining time on the clock. The drive became frantic and ended on a hurried fourth-down incompletion to Parris Campbell. The Colts ended up losing 24-17 on "Monday Night Football."

MORE: Saturday explains why he didn't use his timeouts late

Was that the decision that will define Jeff Saturday's stint as the Colts' interim coach? He will certainly hope it isn't. The Colts had plenty of opportunities to avoid that situation altogether, including a third-quarter drive that got to a yard away from the goal line but ended on a botched handoff.

MORE: Troy Aikman, Joe Buck jab putrid Colts offense

Indianapolis' offense was asleep at the wheel for much of the first half, with Ryan's first completion coming deep into the second quarter. The tide turned in the third quarter as Kenny Pickett began to struggle — the Colts even took a 17-16 lead late into the fourth quarter — but the Steelers answered with a touchdown drive of their own for the game's final points.

MORE: George Pickens hits Cristiano Ronaldo celebration just in time for World Cup

Pickett had his share of ups and downs in the win, but he flashed the ability that made him a first-round pick in April. The Steelers played sound football despite some talent disadvantages, and they didn't bend when the Colts were threatening to tie the game in the final minutes.

The Steelers (4-7) are still far removed from playoff contention but will continue to see what they can get out of Pickett, while the Colts (4-7-1) are quickly losing all hope ahead of another prime-time matchup at Dallas.

(All times Eastern)

Final: Steelers 24, Colts 17

11:14 p.m. — Parris Campbell doesn't come close to hauling in a fourth down pass from Ryan, and the Steelers are getting this ball back to end the game. That's a loss that'll be hard to swallow for Jeff Saturday and Indianapolis.

11:12 p.m. — Matt Ryan takes off with the ball and runs for a nice gain, but the Colts bizarrely opt not to take a timeout. The clock is running down too quickly on this drive.

11:11 p.m. — The Colts can exhale after Pittman comes down with the catch for a first down.

11:07 p.m. — The Colts are facing a 4th & 2 at the two-minute warning. They have all their timeouts, but the outlook will be bleak if they can't convert here.

11:05 p.m. — Ryan with a bit of a dangerous pass through traffic, but it gets to Woods for the first down and more. Woods has 98 yards tonight, more than he had all season heading into this game.

11:02 p.m. — Pittman goes up and gets a 28-yard pass from Ryan to open this all-important drive, even through pass interference.

The 50-50 ball belongs to Michael Pittman Jr. 😮

10:58 p.m. — Tony Brown comes in for a sack of Pickett, which will set the Steelers back a bit. A key third-and-long coming here as the Colts try to get the ball back.

10:56 p.m. — Even Derek Watt is getting in on the action with a short run for a Steelers first down.

10:51 p.m. — Punt coming for Indianapolis... That looked like the Colts offense we saw in the first half.

10:50 p.m. — The Colts' drive is already a mess after Arthur Maulet sacks Ryan.

Steelers 24, Colts 17

10:47 p.m. TOUCHDOWN — Snell runs it in for the touchdown! Steelers go for two and convert on another great catch by Pickens. It's a 7-point lead for Pittsburgh.

10:43 p.m. — Johnson with a drop in the end zone to send Pittsburgh to 3rd & Goal. Good coverage, but he should've had that ball.

10:42 p.m. — Nice job by Pickett to hit Freiermuth for a 17-yard gain. The Steelers are on the doorstep of the end zone.

10:41 p.m. — Diontae Johnson nearly gets the first down on 2nd & 14 but makes the bad decision to run backwards. Six yards short.

10:39 p.m. — Benny Snell is breathing life into the Steelers' run game. He takes off for 13 yards to bring Pittsburgh to the Colts' 24-yard line.

10:36 p.m. — That's a good time for a nice sliding catch from Pickens. First down, Steelers. A roughing-the-passer call adds 15 yards onto the play.

End of third quarter: Colts 17, Steelers 16

10:33 p.m. — Pickett finishes the quarter without a completion. The Steelers will face 3rd & 9 at the start of the fourth quarter.

Colts 17, Steelers 16

10:23 p.m. — That'll be a quick punt for the Steelers as Pickens can't come up with a low throw from Pickett.

10:22 p.m. — Matt Ryan...should've recovered that.

10:19 p.m. FUMBLE — And now a botched handoff turns into a Steelers recovery. What a wild sequence on that drive. It's Pittsburgh's ball, and the Colts get nothing after all of that.

A red zone fumble recovery for the @Steelers!

10:18 p.m. — Another costly penalty for the Steelers. Pass interference bails out the Colts, who are again knocking on the door.

10:17 p.m. — The Colts are struggling to take advantage here. Ryan is forced to throw it out of the back of the end zone on second down.

10:15 p.m. — What a mistake by the Steelers. Officials call an offsides penalty on Cameron Sutton, giving the Colts new life on this drive. That might cost Pittsburgh the lead.

10:14 p.m. — Ryan finds Jelani Woods on a 3rd & 7 in the red zone, but it's just short. The Colts won't go for it this time. Here comes Chase McLaughlin.

10:11 p.m. — The Colts go for it on 4th & 1 and Matt Ryan pushes forward for the first down. Disaster averted for Jeff Saturday.

10:09 p.m. — What a run by Jonathan Taylor! That's some of the toughest 13 yards he'll ever get. The Colts are driving into Steelers territory.

Yeah, @jayt23 is strong 💪

10:04 p.m. — Zaire Franklin comes in for a great tackle on 3rd & 1. The Steelers are quickly forced to punt.

10:01 p.m. — Najee Harris was ruled out for the night with an abdominal injury. Anthony McFarland and Benny Snell have been seeing work out of the backfield in his absence.

Steelers 16, Colts 10

9:58 p.m. TOUCHDOWN — That's exactly what the Colts needed. Jonathan Taylor runs it in for Indianapolis' first touchdown of the night. We have a game.

End of first half: Steelers 16, Colts 3

9:39 p.m. — Chase McLaughlin's 59-yard field goal attempt is blocked. A very bad half for the Colts is over, but they can make it a one-score game on the opening drive in a best-case scenario.

9:33 p.m. — The Colts have a chance at some points here after a great return by Isaiah Rodgers.

Steelers 16, Colts 3

9:31 p.m. FIELD GOAL — Matthew Wright extends the lead with a short-range field. Great half for the Steelers, but Pickett has to feel like he missed an opportunity there.

9:31 p.m. — Oh man, Pickens tried to make another miraculous one-handed catch in the end zone, but he was overthrown by Pickett.

9:30 p.m. — The drive has slowed, but not stalled, for the Steelers. Pittsburgh is in the red zone trying to get it into the end zone on third down.

9:25 p.m. — Everybody's making an impact out of the backfield for the Steelers. Benny Snell runs for 17 yards to put Pittsburgh in field goal range.

9:22 p.m. TWO-MINUTE WARNING — The Steelers are just over midfield looking to add onto their lead before the half... So far, the offense has been a nice combination of runs and Pickett passes.

9:20 p.m. — Pickett gets the Steelers' drive started right with a 13-yard catch-and-run to McFarland.

Steelers 13, Colts 3

9:15 p.m. FIELD GOAL — Ryan is pressured on third down and can't find a receiver, but Chase McLaughlin comes through with a 51-yard field goal. The kickers are impressing so far tonight.

9:13 p.m. — There's Ryan's first completion of the night, and Pittman is carried across the first down marker. The Colts are well past midfield.

9:12 p.m. — Now the Colts are showing a pulse. Jonathan Taylor is gaining chunks of yards, and there's no reason for Indianapolis to give the ball to anyone else right now.

9:08 p.m. — The Colts will need to get something out of this drive if they want anyone to believe they can overcome a 13-0 deficit. It's been that bad for Indianapolis.

Steelers 13, Colts 0

9:06 p.m. TOUCHDOWN — Najee Harris pushes forward for the first touchdown of the game. After the Pickens catch, that drive was all about the running game. Pittsburgh up big.

This will make @ohthatsNajee22's @NFLFantasy owners happy 📈

8:57 p.m. — Ryan throws an incompletion on third down while Braden Smith commits a penalty. Steelers decline it and get the ball back. Still no completed passes for Indianapolis in what's becoming an ugly performance.

8:55 p.m. — Colts center Ryan Kelly headed to the medical tent after he was stepped on...

8:53 p.m. — Jonathan Taylor finally gets the Colts some yards with a 6-yard run. Matt Ryan still hasn't completed a pass.

Steelers 6, Colts 0

8:49 p.m. FIELD GOAL — Off the uprights and in for Wright! A 52-yarder. Steelers extend their lead.

8:48 p.m. — It's only a short gain for Najee Harris on 3rd & 12. Matthew Wright is coming on for a long field goal.

End of first quarter: Steelers 3, Colts 0

8:45 p.m. — Now the Colts stop McFarland behind the line of scrimmage on back-to-back plays. Steelers facing 3rd & 12 and likely out of field goal range.

8:44 p.m. — Anthony McFarland takes the Steelers to about the Colts' 35 with a nice run. The Steelers' running game seems like it's finally gaining some traction in recent weeks.

8:38 p.m. — Now the Steelers get in on the pass-rush fun. Terrell Edmunds takes down Matt Ryan and forces a quick Colts punt.

8:33 p.m. — Woah, Ngakoue comes in untouched for another sack. Against all odds, the Steelers have to punt.

8:16 p.m. — The Colts win the toss and defer. Kenny Pickett will get the ball to start this game.

8:11 p.m. — T.J. Watt is feeling the love on the road. Will he have a big night against a shaky Colts offensive line?
