What is the meaning of the Bridge of Sighs?The enclosed passageway was named for the “sighs” of the prisoners who passed over it. Tradition holds that if a couple kisses while passing underneath the bridge in a gondola, they will enjoy eternal love.
Does Robin Trower sing on Bridge of Sighs?Bridge of Sighs is the second solo album by the English guitarist and songwriter Robin Trower. Released in 1974, it was his second album after leaving Procol Harum, and was a commercial breakthrough for Trower.
Who played on Bridge of Sighs?Vocals on this song were by Trower's bass player, James Dewar, who was in his band throughout the '70s. Rounding out the band was drummer Reg Isidore. Matthew Fisher, who was Trower's bandmate in Procol Harum, produced the album. The engineer was Geoff Emerick, known for his work with The Beatles.
