Texas' proud tradition of publicly funded universities started with Texas A&M. Since its founding, the university has grown and the institution now educates a student body of 59,000 students on the 5,200 acres of land that comprise its College Station campus. The campus is also home to 17 academic colleges that include the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences, Mays Business School, College of Engineering, and the College of Liberal Arts.

For those who need more physical activity, the campus Rec Center houses indoor climbing, bouldering, aquatics, intramural sports, club sports, squash/handball/racquetball courts, and more facilities for nearly any sport or activity imaginable.
