Plants vs zombies battle for neighborville release date

Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville comes to the Nintendo Switch on March 19, with a new Complete Edition.

A news release from Electronic Arts said that this will be the first game developed for Switch with the company’s Frostbite engine.

“We are excited to bring everyone’s favorite Plants vs. Zombies characters to Nintendo Switch for the first time, giving players the ability to play in their homes or on the go, however they choose,” said Melvin Teo, producer at PopCap Vancouver. “The Switch’s motion controls allow us to try a fresh new take on Neighborville, and with its docked and portable play, we have the ability to bring the game and its characters to life in ways that weren’t possible before.”

Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville is the third game in PopCap Vancouver’s Garden Warfare spinoff. It launched in October 2019 on PlayStation 4, Windows PC, and Xbox One, and got its last game update a year later. The Complete Edition coming to Nintendo Switch will allow players to unlock all of the customization content and characters from the original game, which was rolled out in a seasonal model.

The Switch version is being co-developed by the Polish studio QLOC.

  1. Battle for Neighborville: Complete Edition is a fun, colorful, silly game with a good amount of content to keep the player busy. While the game is older, this updated version is the obvious choice for fans of the series and newcomers alike.

  2. Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville brings a fun and addictive online multiplayer mode to Nintendo Switch, which is definitely worth it. We can see low resolution on certain occasions, although it is still a highly recommended and totally enjoyable title.

  3. If you’re looking for a family-friendly multiplayer shooter on the Switch, make sure to check this one out. It doesn’t shine on the technical side as much as on the other platforms, but it still plays great.

  4. For its part, therefore, the Nintendo Switch version offers a more timeless title thanks to the addition of an Offline mode which may no doubt appeal to younger players. The portable aspect of Nintendo's hybrid console is also a plus that shouldn't be taken lightly, especially as Plants Vs Zombies: Battle for Neighborville allows for short play sessions.

  5. This isn’t a perfect port to Nintendo Swich, but it’s certainly an impressive one considering the game’s size and Plants vs. Zombies remains as fun to play as it ever was. If you’re looking for a fun hero shooter with plenty of content to sink your teeth into (no zombie-related pun intended) then Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville Complete Edition might just be the game for you.

  6. Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville is a shooter for all ages, from the most seasoned in titles like Battlefield, Call of Duty, or Overwatch, to the newcomers who see their great opportunity to take on a shooter like their parents or older siblings. This Complete Edition brings new content to the game which makes it highly rewarding having it's place in the market taken back to where it belongs. Although the port is not 100% up to par in the visual field, it guarantees infinite hours of gameplay filled with pure joy and competition. It becomes more than clear: plants and zombies are lifelong enemies.

  7. Unless you really want to see an ear of walking corn fire machine gun rounds at a zombie dressed as a football player, Plants Vs. Zombies: Battle For Neighborville is far from the best option for a multiplayer shooter on the Switch.

  1. The game is insanely good after 2300 hours I can say it's the best video game experience I've ever had.

The leap to switch could not have gone smoother for the first frostbite engine game on the console as the game runs at a solid 30fps with only a few frame drops during cutscenes.
The story mode, although not as replayable as people would like is still full of the signature pvz charm with plentiful giggles and tense battles to satisfy those of all ages.
The improvements made in this version really do solidify this as the complete plants vs zombies battle for Neighborville experience - hence the name.
The only downgrades that could be found in this game are the limited online game modes, there are only two persistent game modes with a third that changes weekly. This is to account for the smaller playerbase one may find on switch.
the hardcore garden warfare 2 fans may discourage you from playing this game but don’t worry - even with the lack of variants compared to the garden warfare series Plants vs Zombies Battle for Neighborville is still a solid overall experience full of charm
