The only problem was that I ordered left driver side, but this part (ride side) was in the bag. I used the old one which was not broken. The cable is universal. Otherwise 5 star.

I ordered an entire window regulator from a known parts dealer. The part was on order (of course)...
While waiting for the regulator to arrive, I decided to try this kit out. It arrived in like 2 days and I was able to install it and give it a test run for a few days... Low and behold - I cancelled the regulator order and this has held up brilliantly.

Saved a lot of money and got it fixed quicker.

I was very careful to put everything together correctly following the video. Did a test run with the window before assembling the car back together and first cycle the cable jumped off and wound itself on the motor pulley.

The cable snapped once it was installed I don’t recommend as my glass broke due to this low quality cable.

I ordered both sides of this kit. And both sides were put together incorrectly. Instructions in videos clearly demonstrates that cable running from bottom to the motor is supposed to be the longer cable. However no matter how this kit is oriented the kit will not work that way. Cable will not be long enough and kit won’t work. What a complete waste of time. Yes im aware cable can be pulled out from either end but one end one has thicker inserts designed to stay in bracket with spring. I did not run the cables backwards. I am very very capable and not some first time DIY repair guy working in his sisters Mini Cooper. The attention to detail is literally garbage. One of mine came in dark and greasy already. Almost as if someone had their paws all over it and couldn’t make it work and returned it. Absolute joke. There is also no way of calling this backyard company or any way of contacting them. Just wasted 4 days of my life and to add insult to injury shipment didn’t arrive on time (TY Amazon and I had to wait all weekend to work on the car again)

I ordered the right side, passenger but got the cable spool for the left. Ended up using the original one. Cables are a little smaller diameter than stock. The how to video was helpful. The window now works so I’m happy. BTW, to get the window unit out/in the window needs to be half way up.

Had to order one for my left and another for my right rear windows that were stuck open on my 2007 Mini Cooper S Convertible. Apparently this is a common problem for this model as both back windows must move together for the top to come down. Package came quickly and even included a link to a helpful video tutorial on how to install.

I found a video on YouTube that showed exactly how to install this kit. It was easy and works great and is a way better option than paying close to $300 for the entire regulator.

I installed as instructed, immediately broke. The wire is too thin and can’t handle it. Look elsewhere.

Can you replace just the window in a convertible top?
