The abs indicator light was on prior to seeking support from an independent service center. The service center's report is below: "abs module internal malfunction: suring diagnostic the tech found the computer system recognized an issue with the abs system. Tech tested the abs module as well as all connecting parts and found that there is currently a failure within the primary control module. ".

8/30/2022 started the vehicle in the drive way foot still engaged on break and the vehicle accelerated forward with my foot on break and damaged my home and vehicle. 8/28/22 emergency break engaged on its own and we couldn’t move the vehicle it was turned off and restarted. 8/27/22 vehicle information screen was blank and black after starting the vehicle. . This happened at least three times.

On 3/19/2022 and on 3/21/2022 while at a stop sign went to make a right hand turn and my car stalled and emergency brake engaged by itself. Had to wait a couple minutes and finally car restarted. Both times the car stalled in roadway, not enough power to pull off road. My car has 45000 miles and original paperwork says oil consumption recall, however the VIN search does not show that at all. Please help.

On 3 different incidents, my 2019 Jeep Compass trailhawk has stalled when I was slowing to a stop or stopped but not in park. I have had difficulty restarting the Jeep (once at an intersection and the other at a car wash) and the power steering as well as the emergency brake were not working. Also, the Jeep is making a "lift off" sound when the vehicle increases its rpm (usually around 35mph-45mph). My foot is usually on the brake and not in the parked gear and just stops running.

Car has been emitting a loud scraping squeaking sound when braking for months. I took it in to dealership to be inspected in February thinking that we needed brakes but were told there is nothing wrong with the brakes & the problem could not be duplicated. I got in the car with the advisor and the problem duplicated but they would not look at it any further due to being understaffed we had to go back and leave the car for them to diagnose it. The car has been at the dealership for almost a weak now (since June 1st 2022) and they say they can’t duplicate the problem and everything looks fine. I don’t know how a car can make such a sound and there be nothing wrong. I see there was a brake recall & they were bleeding brakes for the solution but my VIN number doesn’t produce that recall option. The first dealership visit for this complaint was February 2022. It is June and the Compass is at the shop again to be diagnosed. But I’m being told they can’t duplicate the problem.

My car stalls and then stops at red lights or when stopping for a bit of time. When I accelerate it seems to hesitate and then stop. The brake engages and the engine stops. I cannot go at all. All of my dashboard lights, the radio, and anything else that was on at the time, like the a/c, still runs. I have to turn everything off. Wait about a minute and disengage the brake. I can press the ignition button and the car starts back. If I had to describe it, the car dies as soon as I accelerate after stopping at red lights or at stop signs. At first, I thought it was because I was stepping on the gas too soon after stopping but that is not the case. This is becoming an issue and it is extremely frightening and annoying.

On October 12, 2021about 1:30pm, I was at my dentist office. As I was leaving, my 2016 Jeep Compass would not start. I called my wife to bring jumper cables to me. I jumped my vehicle and started towards home. My driveway has a slite income and I drove just inside the overhead door and stopped. For a moment, I took my food off the brake pedal to draw my drivers mirror inward, at that moment, the vehicle started forward. I slammed my foot unto the brake pedal and the pedal went to the floor, not stopping the vehicle before hitting my work bench. The front edge of the hood had five dents in it. I made an appointment with the local Jeep dealer for October 19, 2021. I explained to the service adviser, about the battery and brake pedal, both happening on the same day. Later in that day, the adviser called me at home. They could not find a problem with the brake system, however, they said I needed a new battery. I gave them the okay. Several times sense that time, I have felt like my pedal was going to the floor, while stopping the vehicle.

Two issues to report. Both common and known to happen. Causing safety issues. The 1st. Wheel speed sensors either come loose or disconnected. This turns off abs , dynamic steering and hill descent. Could be very dangerous is rainy or icy conditions. The 2nd. The Jeep radio unit starts to go out and then dies. Dealers know about the issue but have no idea how to fix other than make the consumer pay for a replacement if out of warranty. When the head unit goes out, the driver looses the ability to use the rear view camera while reversing, could be potentially deadly for kids behind a vehicle. Both issues are widely known on Jeep Compass 2nd generations and above. Just like the engines consume oil, Jeep knows about the wheel speed issue and radio issue.

I purchased my vehicle in 2019 and had no issues aside from having to get my oil changed much more often than expected (not just by me, but by my servicing location). Just last month I went to turn my vehicle on for work, and the vehicle seemed to be turning on, but then stalled out. It read a message of “service electronic parking brake” and “service esc system. ” my husband managed to get it to turn on the next day and we took it into the dealership, but they could not replicate the incident and said no codes appeared and the vehicle was “fine”. Less than a week later, the same issue arose yet again and I worked around some technical way to be able to turn it on. It was an off and on issue. A couple of days ago when turning on the vehicle to go to work the issue continued, but still I turned it on the way I have gotten accustomed to. As I shift gears into drive, I notice the car feeling somewhat shaky and when I head out lightly press my brakes, the brakes feel as if my emergency brake is engaged. I stop into a parking spot and turn on my emergency parking brake and then disengage it. Then I decide to see if that made a difference, well this time as I picked up speed (around 10mph) it felt as if I had a flat tire but all the tires were fine. I parked back up and took my car to the dealership the following day. On the short drive to the dealership the car felt like it was dragging heavily and the sound was a horrifying screeching sound. Once I arrived I explained everything and my car actually displayed the issue upon my arrival and was told it was odd, but yet again I have been told that they couldn’t replicate the issue. I just can’t understand how after seeing and hearing my vehicle there is nothing more that they can do to make sure there are no issues. Currently there are no recalls on my vehicle but I believe there should be further investigation into it as I am seeing many issues with the make, model and year I posses.

The contact owns a 2011 Jeep Compass. The contact stated while driving 20 mph, the vehicle went into limp mode and would not exceed 25 mph. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where it was diagnosed with the brake switch, cam shaft sensor, catalytic converter, and the crank shaft sensor needing to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure persisted. The contact took the vehicle back to the dealer a month later where it was diagnosed with the throttle body and the brake switch needing to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 90,317.

2019 Jeep Compass limited - around may 2021 brake light comes on stays on for awhile then turns off and on at random while driving and while stopped. Then the brake fluid low light comes on randomly while driving or stopped. Then has to go away since it’s where speedometer is then the brake light stays on. Then the auto start/stop light said unavailable. Then the 4 wheel drive unavailable light randomly pops up not as often as the brake lights which are daily actually like 15+ times a trip which also means it is dinging every time a light goes off. I have been to the dealer several times and nothing is ever fixed. This is a safety hazard I can not have my family in this Jeep if I have a faulty brake and electrical system !!! there are lots of issues posted online about this faulty electrical system. How can Jeep excpect me to drive around with possible faulty brakes?? seems a recall needs to happen as this is a safety hazard!!! I will not even be able to pass emissions and get it registered if I have error messages! almost 10 months and still having this ongoing daily error message issue and dealer is of no help as well it is reported to Jeep customer care. Which they don’t care either. Seems everyone knows about this electrical issue and from what I read it just gets worse !! how can brakes and faulty electrical system not be a hazard??!! I do not feel safe and don’t even want this Jeep at all. Come on Jeep do you want your children/spouses/parents driving such a death trap?.

On n/b i5 between albany and salem oregon, traveling with the cruise control set at 73mph, the vehicle began abruptly braking on it's own. In a matter of seconds the vehicle went from 73mph to approximately 45mph, and hard/fast enough to lock the seat belt. The vehicle was then pulled off the highway, turned back on/off again, and driven to the destination without issues. Luckily the incident happened at about 430am and there was no traffic. Had there been traffic a collision would've been imminent and unavoidable.

While driving about 60mph with no vehicle in front of me the car started dinging and the word brake! came up on the dash - again, no vehicle in front of me. I pushed the brake and it went away - took it to the dealership and they said the front camera was defective and replaced it. About a week later while driving about 45mph- no one in front of me - the same thing happened only this time the car slammed the brakes on on it's own and I almost got rear ended. Took it to the dealership but they cant' diagnose what's happening because there's no codes.

I parked my car in my drive lastnight just like every night; and I walked out this morning and the back end of my car was in the street! it rolled back more than half of my driveway! please understand that yes it snowed here in NJ however there was rock salt (a significant amount on my driveway - township grade) there was a very light amount of snow nothing crazy that would've caused this. My driveway is not a hill or harsh slopping at all. I'm concerned for not only my safety and of course for my car, but what if that rolled further?. . . What if it hit someone walking their dog. . Or another vehicle passing by?.

I could not start my Jeep Friday morning by pushing ignition button. The dashboard and lights all came on but the Jeep wouldn't turn over. Yes, my foot was on the brakes, tank has gas, door was closed. After 3 failed attempts I got out of the car and tried starting Jeep with my key fob, no luck. Looked inside dash and it read auto start disabled. I tried turning off Jeep since the dashboard and lights were still on and no luck, they stayed on. My neighbor drove me to my orthopedic surgeon appt. When we returned, the Jeep was still on and my family showed up trying the following: change batteries to key fob. Checked cables and car battery. After those things the dashboard read "put car in park" my car of course was in park. I couldn't get it out of park since it never started!!! I bought at a dealership in mobile al when I lived in biloxi. Can't take it back to that dealership until after hip surgery here in florida's va. Please advise. Thank you, semper fi.

I started my car like normal and reversed and drove forward down street. I noticed the car kept making jolting motions. I came to a stop sign and as I began to take off and was in the roadway the parking brake engaged and the brake and gas pedals locked up and the car slowly came to a stop. I put the car in park and tried to disengage the parking brake. It turned off but the brake and gas pedals were still jammed. I turned the car off and let it sit for a minute and pressed the power button to try and restart the car. It started making a noise as if the battery was dead and shut back off. I let it sit for a bit longer and tried again. This time it did the same thing but eventually turned on. I then put the car in drive and proceeded to press on the gas to see if it would move forward. It did but happened again at the next intersection I had to stop at. Every time this would occur it would nudge forward just enough for me to be in the intersection and it would take a couple tries to get the car to restart in order to move. This problem continued and finally a light popped up that said "oil pressure low" so I checked the oil and it was just about empty. I had just had the oil the oil changed a couple weeks before so the oil should not have been anywhere near empty. I replaced the oil and the problem stopped. I have been making sure to check oil daily and replace as needed but now the car is jittery at times.

Making a turn around and the car went over the curb barely at 20 mph or slower and then the car became in drivable. I have been told the rack and pinion is broken and that Jeep has a 700+ people waiting list for the part because there is a bug in the part and they refused to release it to the people so now I don't have a car to drive all because I ran over a curb going less than 20 mph.

After coming to a complete stop at a stop sign, I started to turn left and my emergency break engaged, car stalled, would not start, advisers me to put in park and hit start/stop button. I did so and then the brake pedal had pressure beneath it where I could not brake and began to roll back nearly hitting car behind me. For 5-10 minutes car was stalled in the middle of the roa. Turned car completely off and engine light and red lighting lights came on. After my toole attempts to restart car and disengage emergency brake, car started and could drive myself back home. I'm hesistant to even take the car in, because I've read of multiple reports of this occurring to other drivers while at highway speeds. I don't feel safe with the car locking up and failing to where I can even brake or pull to the side of the road.

When driving down the road if I make a complete stop the autostp engages will not disengage until Jeep is in park and turned off and on. The emergency brake will also randomly engage. Cause me not to be able to move. Also have had times were the brake pedal is stiff and cant start the Jeep.

The vehicle wont start occasionally. You can press the ignition, and it says its on, but the engine doesnt turn over. I have noticed it happens more often if you 3ngage the parking brake while your foot is on the brake peddle. To "correct" you have to take your foot off the brake, press the ignition button again until it shuts off, and then reapply your foot on the brake depressing it as far as you can press it and then press the ignition button again. There is a moment of hesitation and then it starts up. Additionally the car has shut off on me at an intersection with the auto start feature on, and wouldnt restart when I took my foot off the brake like it was supposed to. I had to follow the same procedure describe above to "correct" the problem. Because of this, I no longer run the car with the auto start feature because its unreliable. Its always been a bit of a rough start whenever I have left it on, causing me to wonder if its actually going to start.

I have had my 2020 Jeep Compass 4. 5 months and it has stalled twice. Both times as I was approaching a light to stop. My life has been endangered both times as I did not realize what had happened nor do the people behind me. I only realized what was happening when I attempt to accelerate. Both times I was almost hit from behind. The first time at approx at 1624 miles and the second time at approx 1742 miles. There is no warning or direction from the vehicle, but while panicking in traffic I see that my emergency bake is on!!!!! suddenly and for no reason!! I have also have several problems since the first month with the auto stop-start. This function has never worked properly and shuts down all. The. Time. I was told by the dealership it was my fault for not driving my vehicle enough. Not driving my vehicle enough during a global pandemic. I'm to blame. I do not feel safe in this car.

I bought my Jeep March 2019 and have never had an issue. Then a few months later the radio starts pressing buttons by itself. I took it to the local Dodge and they said there was nothing wrong with it. The next thing to go wrong is the auto start stops working. I got stuck at several red lights and almost rear ended a few times. I took it back to Dodge and they still said there was nothing wrong with it and it didnt throw any codes at advanced auto. Then lastly, it finally goes out. The vehicle completely shuts off on my in the middle of driving in the middle of the road. It just stops. Breaks seized. Lights flickering off and on. Car is registered as on but wont go anywhere. It has been about 3 weeks now and it still wont start nor even show a light on the dash. Now that I only have an extended warranty left they are nkw saying I have to pay 3i for a new ecu out of pocket. How is this fair. I bought a new vehicle so I wouldnt have these issues. I still owe 29k on something I cant amuse ever again.

I have repeated got my car sent to a repair shop for screeching transmission & brakes. Every time no one can find an issue and the next day the noises will come back again. Recently once again my check engine light turned on. I have constantly stated there is obviously something wrong with the engine or transmission since the first month of buying this car, but no one can find anything so everything is good with the car apparently. Its not safe do something & ive filled a complaint before and gotten no response. Recent incident: the car is currently was stationary when I tried turning on my car and the check engine light came on. The past incidents: I was in motion on a 40mph road and the car completely shuts off. The repair shop took a crank piece out but thats not main problem since 2weeks later my car doesnt want to turn on.

The Jeep sat for four to five weeks during the covid-19 shut down. In April we started to drive the vehicle with only 10,870 miles on it and discovered serious pulsating when braking in the steering wheel and dangerous vibration in the braking altogether. Livonia Chrysler Jeep service person drove the Jeep and determined warped rotors. Would not repair under warranty. Car sits month after month unable to drive while paying lease payments on the car. Took the car to snethcamp today 10-12-20 for an appointment set up by kris in Jeep customer care. Dealership will not look at the Jeep unless I agree to a $65. 00 inspection fee. I refuse to pay anything for a defective lease vehicle repair. The Jeep is still at the dealership and so far no resolution through customer care at fca has occurred. No issues with the brakes occurred before the vehicle sat for approx. 4 weeks. Why in the world would warped rotors due to non use of the vehicle be the responsibility of the person leasing the vehicle with only 10,870 mile on it?so far I have made 7 payments and insurance costs per month on a vehicle for 7 months that cannot be driven due to inferior manufacturer parts. Help!!!!.
