How to use your firestick remote to control your tv

Is there instructions to pair it with a TV? If so mine didn’t come with any.

My remote did sow up with instructions on a narrow folded booklet. I followed the "if this remote is in addition to the remote that came originally", and the setup routine provided step-by-step instructions to pair the new remote with both the Fire stick and my Samsung TV. Basics were to use old remote to go to "Settings" and then "controllers & Bluetooth devices", then "Amazon Fire TV Remotes", then "Add New Remote". Next you push the home button on the new remote for 10 seconds until it flashes rapidly to show it's ready to pair. You'll see the new remote listed (the only tricky part was realizing the listing of "Amazon Fire Remote" was the new one, not the old one). Select that and it'll tell you to wait for a minute, after which it asks you if you want to pair with your TV too. In my case it successfully detected my Samsung TV, asked me if this was correct, then confirmed power and volume worked. I put my Firestick on a different TV and then needed to pair it with that 2nd TV. Try this if you need to pair your remote.
1. Press the home button. At the top of the screen scroll to the far right & select “settings”
2. Scroll to/select “equipment control”
3. Scroll to/select “manage equipment”
4. Select “TV”
5. Select “change tv”
6. Follow on screen instructions

When u set it up with your tv it will pair them during the process. I love it!!

I had to unpair and re-pair this remote 3 times for the Fire TV Setup to add a menu item called "Equipment Control." From there you can pair it with your TV.

I just got mine! When you pair the remote to your fire tv/stick, it comes up with another window that says "would you like to pair your TV/receiver to your remote now?" if you say no, it gives you instructions on how to do it later.

Press the home button. At the top of the screen scroll to the far right & select “settings”.

Scroll to/select “equipment control”.

Scroll to/select “manage equipment”.

Select “TV”.

Select “change tv”.

Follow on screen instructions..

How do I program my Firestick remote to my TV volume?

To pair a Fire Stick remote to TV for volume control, ensure that the remote has an enabled volume control function, then turn on the TV with the Fire Stick plugged in, and go to Settings > Equipment Control > Add Equipment > TV > Select your TV > Restart the TV.
