Welcome to the forum. It’s there buried in the menu system. Just need to dig a bit more. Your forum profile doesn’t show forester year and model, so can’t get much more specific. Joined Mar 2, 2017 · 1,366 Posts
@mark_7963 This will probably works for all eyesight models SJ and SK.

Does anyone know how to turn off all the annoying beeps and tones. I have turned off the Vehicle acquisition tones while in Active cruse control. Careful there - I have personally experienced (just once, but it did really happen) a smashed insect in exactly the worst place on the windshield in front of one
camera. It rendered the EyeSight system "blind" without the system realizing that and without it disengaging itself. My ONLY symptoms of the problem were lack of vehicle acquisition tone/symbol, and lack of any slowing down when I approached a car driving ahead of me. The display symbol alone, noiseless, is a very difficult thing to notice when driving at highway speed. Joined Jan 24, 2014 · 179 Posts
@whobodym Wow so something like a bug hitting the windshield at that exact spot with your eyesight cameras are will render the Eyesight system unusable? I’m so glad I don’t have it on my

@whobodym, One additional point… Eyesight is a driver assistant, NOT a driver substitute. Its an important distinction! 2017 Forester XT Touring EyeSight Joined Aug 20, 2020 · 1,692 Posts
@whobodym, of course - I think
all my commentary fits with that, don't you? Joined Mar 30, 2018 · 2,181 Posts
Yes, I do… but, then again, you and I don’t expect our vehicles to take over the task of driving whenever one of us doesn‘t feel like it. Too many drivers look at driver assistants and make the leap to autonomous driving. The Internet is loaded with examples. There are more than a few than, for whatever reason, don’t seem to grasp that
concept. An example…Some folks expect lane centering to keep their vehicle in their lane all by itself for long distances, in essence do the driving. That isn’t what it’s designed to do.

“which is the first true hands-free driver-assistance technology for compatible roads” I can’t wait to see what happens when a driver using that “feature” crashes and tries to sue GM, and find out GM says they weren’t on a “compatible road”. All of these insinuated autonomous driving assistants work great… until
they suddenly don’t. Joined Oct 22, 2019 · 87 Posts
My wife was amazed at the number of times hers beeps while she drives ('21 Crosstrek), and after riding with her I can see why. In contrast, I stay within the lines and use my signals when I do change lanes, and as a result I rarely hear any beeps. So that was my suggested solution to her (it went as well as you would expect) Joined Aug 20, 2021 · 100 Posts
Hi All. On my '21 Forester I simply shut off the whole Lane Departure Warning system using the switch on the roof
console next to the moon roof switch. That disabled the whole LD system from working, including the annoying beeps. Everyone has their own preferences for all these driver assist safety features, but in my case I found myself taking my eyes off the road way too often to look at the dash to see why some unexpected warning
beep came on. To each their own, but for me it was a classic example of the safety feature becoming a safety hazard. How do you turn off the lane assist in a 2022 Subaru Outback?This function is turned off by selecting “ Lane Departure Prevention Function Only ” or “ OFF ” on the “ Lane Departure Prevention Function ” screen of the EyeSight settings .
Can Lane Assist be turned off?This feature can be turned on or off using the Lane Keep Assist button that looks like a vehicle between two spotted lines.
