How to transfer my verizon number to a new phone

If you’re looking to transfer numbers between phones on the Verizon Wireless network, you’ll find it to be pretty easy. It should be just as simple as a T-Mobile transfer for those who are well-versed in transferring numbers between phones on the T-Mobile network.

The first step is to make sure the existing Verizon transfer number is one that will operate on the Verizon network. You won’t be able to successfully carry out the transfer if the number isn’t compatible with Verizon.

The transfer itself works in one of two ways.

  1. The first is to call the Verizon Wireless support number. If you’ve performed such a transfer on T-Mobile before, then this should be easy to grasp as it is similar to the T-Mobile customer service number that you call when you want to transfer numbers between two phones in the T-Mobile Wireless network.
  2. The other method is to visit any Verizon store and ask the personnel to transfer the numbers for you. Note that you should take both phones to the store to make the transfer possible.

If you decide to call the Verizon support service, then you should call from the phone you want the numbers transferred to and not the one that originally holds the numbers. It's a simple process that takes a few minutes to complete.

  1. MEID Number

  2. The first step is to remove the back cover of the receiving phone, the phone that you would like to transfer the numbers to. You should remove the battery of the phone and note the MEID number at the back of the phone. This is an important number as it will be required when you call the Verizon Wireless support number to perform the transfer.

  3. Verizon Transfer Number

  4. The next step is to call the Verizon Wireless support number, which, as of this writing, is 1-800-922-0204. Note that you don’t have to include the hyphens when you’re dialing the number into your dial pad as the phone will automatically include them. You will be connected to a Verizon representative on the other end. Tell her that you would like to transfer your Verizon Wireless phone number to a different phone.

  5. The representative will ask you for the existing phone number that you would like to transfer as well as the MEID of the receiving phone. She will also require you to confirm your identity to prevent identity theft and verify your Verizon Wireless service account.

  6. Confirm Information

  7. You should present the representative with all the information she requires at this point, and she will take care of the rest. The phone number will be transferred from the original phone to the receiving phone in a matter of a few minutes. You should wait patiently during the process.

  8. Perform Test

  9. Once the process is complete, you can now test to determine if the transfer was successful. Make a test call using the phone that you transferred the number to and check on the receiving phone to see if it is, in fact, the transferred number that made the call.

We defintiely want to make switching equipment as simple as possible, tcox1958. If the sim cards are compatible, you can put your current sim card into the old device to activate it. If not, you can activate services here, http://spr.ly/65878obtf. If a new sim card is needed, you can stop into any Verizon corporate store for a free sim card, http://spr.ly/65888obtA.

How to transfer my verizon number to a new phone

Does the phone with the 'other number' have a nano or micro sized active SIM card in it?  If so, just put the micro SIM card in the S5 or get a nano-to-micro SIM card adapter for the S5 and you should be good to go.  Otherwise, you can get a new SIM card free at your local Corporate VzW store or by contacting Customer Service.
