The item broke with first use. I needed this tool to remove the steering from my Camaro project. Upon tightening the wing nut, one end broke off. The edge was very jagged and I had to use channel-locks to remove it. Amazon and the vendor graciously accepted the return and refund.

Works ok. The wing nut needs a bearing to work more smoothly.

First things first, the dumb can run a bit thick in my blood sometimes: the first steering wheel i pulled was out of an 81 mustang with nothing more than a rubber mallet and a couple sockets. It didn't go well. Last November my brother bought a 91 k5 jimmy with a bad turn signal lever. He tried several times to get through his steering column, again not the best results since no proper tools.
Fast forward to last month, i bring a 91 suburban home with a bad ignition cylinder. Watch a couple youtwitface, ordered this & a decent steering wheel puller, and then waited a few days.
Use is simple, especially with all the tutorials on social media. I've seen this tool with narrower spread between the legsthat may have been better for my year truck (91 r2500), but a little extra care kept everything copacetic.
Not an absolute must have tool, but if you're reading this there's good chance it'll save you a lot of headache and bruised knuckles.

You only have to compress about an 1/8 of an inch. Works as advertised, then fight that C spring off.

Worth the money , it works perfectly

How do you take off a steering wheel lock without the key?

You can try depressing the brake and press the push start button once while moderately shaking the steering wheel back and forth. You can take off your leg from the brake pedal and double press the start button while wiggling the steering wheel as well. Both options will turn on the ignition as well.
