How to post pictures on instagram without anyone seeing it

While Facebook is a fantastic way to share your photos with your friends, you might have a hard time controlling just who sees what. Occasionally, you may upload photos you'd rather not be visible to your employees or clients who are also on your Friends list. Fortunately, Facebook gives you a way to add photos to your account while preventing them from showing in the news feeds from some or all of the people on your Friends list.

Posting New Photos

1. Click "Add Photo/Video" from the Facebook main page to see the three upload options.

2. Click "Upload Photo/Video" to see the upload photo options.

3. Click "Choose File" to open a file upload dialog box.

4. Browse to the photo you want to upload.

5. Click on the photo to select it.

6. Click "Choose" to close the dialog and add the photo to the status area.

7. Click the "Audience Locator" drop-down menu and choose "Only Me" to prevent anyone from viewing the photo.

8. Click "Post" to post the photo to your Facebook Timeline.

9. The photo will appear on your news feed and Timeline but on no one else's. The post containing the photo has a striped border at the top and bottom to indicate complete privacy, and an icon of a lock appears in the corner with the words "Only Me."

By default, all your photos and videos are public on Instagram. Instead of blocking potential clients on Instagram to prevent them from viewing your personal photos, you can change the visibility settings of your profile. Once you make the change, only approved followers can see your private photos and videos. Furthermore, people who want to view your photos must send you a follow request; you can allow or deny that request. Follow requests are displayed in the News Feed section of your profile.

Change Instagram Visibility to Private

1. Navigate to your Instagram profile by tapping the "Profile" icon after you log in to your Instagram account. Tap "Edit Your Profile" to enter profile editing mode. The "Edit Your Profile" option is located next to your profile picture. On iOS devices, toggle the "Posts Are Private" switch to the "On" position. If you are using a Windows or Android smartphone, check the "Posts are Private" box. The new settings are applied immediately.

Here is how it works:

1. Find the post you want to hide

Open your Instagram app and find a post you want to hide.

2. Press the three dots “…”

Press on the three dots that are on the top right corner of your post.

3. Select “Archive”

That’s it! You’re done!

Now, what if you want to unhide the post?

How to unhide the post?

Open your Archive folder. On the new Instagram design, you have to press on the “Open Archive” button, under your bio. On the old Instagram design, you need to press that little “clock” button on the top left corner of your screen:

Select the post and press on the three dots “…”:

Select “Show on profile”:

Your Instagram post will reappear where it used to be in your feed, before you hid it. It will not appear at the beginning of your feed, like a brand new post would.
