Dec 4, 2020 I have 2020 Santa Fe SEL and there is no trunk release key on the remote and inside the car. I have to go back and open it manually. Did anyone try modding this?

That sounds very inconvenient as I use those buttons/functions all the time on my 2020 Limited. Sometimes I just shake my head at the places Hyundai decided to save a few bucks on certain models. Should have read the post. I see you did not comprehend the meaning of the Hyundai term package. The SEL, last I knew, can be had with two “packages” that add additional features. I went to the dealer to trade in my challenger and got a car from the lot which has all tech and the same monthly payment. And they gave me an SEL with a leather upgrade. I'm not sure I understand the issue. Since it's not a power liftgate, you would have to manually lift it anyway. I agree. But SOL if it is a handle that releases it.

On my 2012 all I have is an unlock button on the remote for the rear hatch...still have to pull the handle to open it. No big whoop.
