I am always looking for new holiday decorations to spend all my money on and I think I just landed on the mother-load of holiday cuteness.  Apparently, Pampas Grass Christmas Trees Are This Year’s Hottest Decorating Trend and I’m Obsessed!! I have to admit, I’ve always loved the look of Pampas Grass. It just looks so fluffy and whimsical. So, I am really excited to hear that Pampas Grass Christmas Trees are a thing because they are adorable! People are decorating with large full-size Pampas Christmas Trees and some are even putting mini pampas trees around their homes. Either way, I am LOVING this look. It’s just so clean, modern and unique! Now, you should know, if you want a full-size tree, you’ll either have to make your own by adding Pampas Grass into your existing Christmas tree (I suggest a white tree) or you’ll need to find someone that can make you one. I don’t know about you, but I think I found my new DIY Christmas decoration for the month!! You can grab the mini pampas grass tree on Walmart’s website here.
~ A faux Christmas tree. We chose the most cost-effective 4.5 ft. white tree to use for our base. We linked the tree we used here! Choose the size based on the space you plan to use it in and how many plumes you'd like to use. ~ A whole lot of pampas. We used around 250 single stems of our Natural Luxe Pampas Grass and Greige Pampas Grass, varying in sizes of small, medium, and large. This number will vary depending on the size of your tree base. ~ Clear plastic round ornaments with lace ties. ~ 6-Pelt New Zealand Sheepskin Rug. ~ About 1-2 hours. ~ Make yourself a nice cup of hot cocoa, throw on your elf hat, and let's create your very own Pampas Christmas! note: The pampas do shed, especially when handling it in this fashion, so make sure to keep your vacuum handy for quick cleanup. Can you spray paint pampas grass?I tested out the spray paint on the pampas grass and I was pleasantly surprised. The feathery ends stayed feathery and the paint was just enough to keep the fluff from falling off the stems. I love the way this one turns out!
How do you make decorative pampas grass?Wrap the stems together with some wire, string, or a rubber band then hang upside down in a cool dry place for about three weeks. Some place out of the way, like a closet, is perfect. Tie them to a clothes hanger with some light string or dental floss. Once your pampas grass is dry, it will be fairly fragile.
