Can you install Ring Doorbell without wiring?

There are lots of video doorbells that need to be hardwired, which means you will need to replace an existing doorbell to power them. However, Ring has a battery-powered doorbell that can be installed anywhere.

Which Ring Doorbell does not require wiring?

Most models of the Ring Doorbell (except the Ring Doorbell Pro) don't need to be hardwired. What is this? You can have it run off its battery entirely. Since it uses Wi-Fi to connect to a Chime, you can simply mount it and connect it to the Chime.

Can you wire a battery Ring Doorbell?

If you hardwire your battery-powered Ring Video Doorbell, it does not actually use the wired power to run its operations. It relies on the battery for that. The trickle charge the Video Doorbell gets from being hardwired is solely used to charge the battery.
