When you set up your Instagram account and switch it from private to a business account you are required to connect it to a Facebook page. In order to have an Instagram business page you also need a Facebook page.

If you want to give somebody permission to post on your Instagram account or you are trying to become an admin on an Instagram account, you have to make that person an admin on you Facebook business page first.

You do this by:-

Go to your Facebook page.
Click 'settings' at the top right of your Facebook page in the 'white bar' running across the top, below the 'blue bar'.

3. Click 'Page Roles' from the left hand side menu.

4. If you are a 'Facebook Friend' of the person you are providing the access to then begin typing their name in the box as shown. Their name should appear in the drop down box. If you aren't a 'Facebook Friend' then you need to type in their email address.

Click 'Editor' and choose the 'Admin' option from the drop down box. Save and enter your password to confirm.

Your friend may receive notification of your request to make them an 'Admin' but this will be depend upon their settings.

From Instagram

Click the 'Profile' ico and swipe to the left.
Click 'Settings' at the bottom.
Then click 'Account' and then 'Switch to Business Profile'.
Keep clicking through the options Instagram offers such as 'Business Tools', 'Contact Options', 'Reach Your Customers' etc until it asks you to 'Connect to Your Business Page'.
Click the appropriate page to connect to and then click 'Next'.

Once converted you need to provide the login details to the person who is getting the shared access.
