While there are plenty of sports cars with aggressive styling cues, few look as mean and muscular as the Redeye. When I first took out the Redeye to test out its speed, I was slightly underwhelmed, only to realize that the car was locked into its 500 HP mode, prioritizing efficiency and a smooth ride. After some fiddling, I managed to set it to its total 797 HP output and was subsequently embedded into my seat.

One thing that struck me was the fact that switching the Redeye into track mode also gives you more slip from the traction control system. Flooring this ultra-powerful sedan when the tires are cold only results in wheel spin. However, once it hooks, it truly flies.

The most surprising aspect about this powertrain is how easy it is to extract tremendous speed from it. This car is easy enough for just about anyone to drive. Even when the rear end steps out, the Redeye is predictable and easy to dominate.

When you're not a wide-open throttle and getting abysmal fuel efficiency, the Redeye has a dual personality. That's because it is a calm, collected, and comfortable vehicle in most scenarios, making it an ideal daily driver.

Getting 797 HP for $80,000 will undoubtedly require some drawbacks, and the 2021 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye Widebody has a few. For starters, I found the overall interior layout to be quite intuitive and comfortable.

While the seats do have a good amount of bolstering, they remain incredibly comfortable. One thing that stood out is how welcoming they are, even if you are slightly on the larger side. The same goes for the rest of the interior. There is enough space for four adults to travel in complete comfort.

As far as quality goes, this is where the interior's drawbacks come into view. That's because you'll find plenty of plastic elements throughout that don't exactly scream quality. However, if this is the price to pay for having 797 HP, that is a trade-off I would make any day.

In the center, you get an 8.4-inch infotainment screen that features Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. This is also where you control the Charger's powertrain, traction control, and read its on-track data. Since the infotainment system is laid out similarly to a smartphone, it's easy to navigate and find exactly what you're looking for.

To my surprise, wind noise wasn't an issue at highway speeds. The only thing you'll hear is tire noise, but even that is relatively subdued. When driving around in a relaxed state, these subtle refinements drastically improve the driving experience.

As far as value propositions go, the Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye is one of the best in the auto industry. I understand that many folks considering this crazy sedan likely haven't driven all other super fast vehicles. Still, at least in my experience, you'd need to jump into supercar territory to get considerably more speed than this.

When you consider that this is a comfortable daily driver that can run a 10-second quarter-mile, it can indeed be our one vehicle to satisfy all needs. There's enough space for a family inside and groceries in the trunk while still retaining a 203 MPH top speed. In short, this is an actual modern muscle car that manages to emphasize the feeling of fun behind the wheel.
