Had full period but pregnant how reddit

My sister didn’t know she was pregnant until she was about 30 weeks. It was kind of a combination of a few things that made her think she wasn’t.

  1. She was on a higher dose of the pill. She’d been on a normal dose pill but got pregnant in high school, did not have the baby. They put her on a higher dose that gave her side effects for a while, but they said it was very highly unlikely she’d get pregnant on this dose.

  2. She bled monthly. She’d never had heavy periods so she thought that her bleeding must be a period, so she couldn’t be pregnant.

  3. She has always had digestive issues. Gas, stomach cramps, etc. Her doctor thinks she probably mistook early baby movements as gas, which is also notable because...

  4. She was in her freshman year of college. She was eating like garbage. She was in school full time plus working full time, she was super stressed and went from walking everywhere in high school to driving, so she thought she was just putting on the freshman 15.

She never really looked pregnant until maybe week 30. She’d always been small, looked like maybe she’d gotten a little soft because of the school and stress and whatever, but it wasn’t super apparent until we saw her in a bikini right before she found out. She was a little softer in her legs and arms but her stomach went rounded out, but the rest of her was almost unchanged.

My mom finally convinced her to see a doctor and lo and behold, 30 weeks.

A lot of people don’t realize that there are TONS of things that can make a woman not know she’s pregnant. Women get judged unfairly for it (especially with dramatized shows like there are now!) but it happens.

Had full period but pregnant how reddit

I found out yesterday that I am pregnant, a pretty immediate positive test.

Unfortunately, this has been a weird cycle. I stopped taking my birth control pills on 09/01, I started bleeding 09/02 and had a "normal" period lasting 6 days. I did not start the pill again.

My period this month seemed late so I took very sensitive pregnancy tests on 10/4 (cycle day 32) and 10/5 with first morning urine (FRER), both negative.

On 10/6 I started heavily bleeding, like a normal period with red blood, I filled a menstrual cup as I always do the first few days. The bleeding stopped after 10/10 (so 5 days of bleeding which is not abnormal for me).

I had one day of spotting this week on 10/15, with old blood and I had to change my panty liner once but then it stopped.

I've felt bloated the last 3 days, I can't suck in my belly and yesterday I took a pregnancy test again and it's a definite positive result. I used a ClinicalGuard test, it's not dye stealing but it's not light either.

I have no idea when I ovulated. I'm not sure what to use as my last menstrual date. Today the test looks a little darker (I am a POS addict). I've been pregnant 3 other times in the past year (none ended well) I know what it feels like and I feel pregnant today, nauseated, my boobs are sensitive, I've had crazy sex dreams (best pregnancy symptom ever) and I am so tired.

Has anyone had a similar experience? Had a negative test, a period and then found out they were pregnant a week later?

Before you reply, I did go for blood work today, I will go again on Monday for a repeat level. I also know it technically couldn't have been a "period" but honestly, it felt like it and lasted like my normal one and my pregnancy test was negative right before it.

Update: hCG on Friday was 829, tests keep looking darker..

No, but this happened to a close friend. She didn't know she was pregnant until she was giving birth in a bathroom.

She still had her period every month. She was a bit bigger, but she'd been working out extensively and eating healthier (and still does) and was losing lots of weight the whole time. No-one else noticed, either, and at the time, she lived at home - both of her parents are in the medical field.

A few weeks before, she had had some minor stomach pains, but thought she just had a cold or something.

While there were no other known complications, the baby didn't survive long after. The whole thing was made worse by the fact that her parents are super conservative/xenophobic and didn't know that she had been dating a Middle Eastern guy. Her parents currently act like the whole thing never happened, but now her mom grills her on everything when she goes out.

Can you have a full heavy period and still be pregnant?

The short answer is no. Despite all of the claims out there, it isn't possible to have a period while you're pregnant. Rather, you might experience “spotting” during early pregnancy, which is usually light pink or dark brown in color.

Why am I bleeding like I'm on my period while pregnant?

Spotting or bleeding may occur shortly after conception, this is known as an implantation bleed. It is caused by the fertilised egg embedding itself in the lining of the womb. This bleeding is often mistaken for a period, and it may occur around the time your period is due.
