Day 1

Flight to Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Visit the National Museum of Wildlife Art. Arrive at the Best Western Jackson Hole for a 2-night stay. Dinner.

Day 2

Breakfast. Take an unforgettable ten-mile Snake River Float Trip that showcases the ageless beauty of the Grand Tetons. Get a bird’s eye view of Grand Teton National Park as you travel 2 ½ miles up Rendezvous Mountain aboard a scenic aerial tramway.

Day 3

Breakfast. Travel to Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming by driving through Grand Teton National Park. View rugged, snow-capped mountains & landscape sculpted with canyons, cirques, craggy peaks, clear alpine lakes, and winding rivers. Picture stops en route. Visit the famous geyser - Old Faithful. For over 100 years Old Faithful has not missed a performance since the eruptions were first recorded. Dinner at the Old Faithful Lodge. Lodging in Yellowstone area for a 2-night stay.

Day 4

Breakfast. Full day guided tour of Yellowstone National Park. Tour highlights include: Artist Point overlooking the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone, Tower Falls, Mammoth Hot Springs, Golden Gate & the Norris Geyser Basins. Dinner.

Day 5

Breakfast. Experience the breathtaking video experience “Yellowstone” in an IMAX Theater. Enjoy scenic travel to Helena, Montana. Arrive at the Best Western Helena for a 1-night stay. Dinner.

Day 6

Breakfast. Enjoy at 12-mile Missouri River Cruise of the Gates of the Mountains. The cruise explores the deep gorge in Helena National Forest discovered & named by Lewis & Clark. Incredible views of cliffs, canyons, wildlife & wilderness will enthrall you. Arrive at Glacier Park Lodge nestled amidst the wild grandeur of Glacier National Park. Comprised of over a million acres, this spectacular national treasure contains 50 glaciers over 200 lakes, magnificent forests, and over 50 species of wildlife. Dinner at lodge.

Day 7

Breakfast. Full day guided tour of Glacier National Park. Discover this living textbook in geology abounding in amazing natural delights. On the tour, take one of the most magnificent drives in the world along “Going to the Sun Road.” Box lunch provided during the full day tour. Dinner at lodge.

Day 8

Breakfast. Flight home.

American Classic Tours is based out of Chicago. Because many of our travelers are from the greater Chicagoland Area, all of our tours begin at one of Chicago’s airports. If you are from out of state or country, you can join us via a “land-only” tour package. A “land-only” tour is the exact same as our “all-inclusive” tour except it does not include airfare. Your tour director will meet you at your destination and lead you to meet the rest of the group on the first day of the tour.

How many days do you need to see Grand Tetons and Yellowstone?

If you want to see two parks in one trip – Yellowstone and Grand Teton – two days is an absolute minimum. This will allow you to see just the main highlights of each National Park. We recommend at least 4-6 days in the area: 3-4 days in Yellowstone and 1-2 days in Grand Teton.

Is a guided tour of Yellowstone worth it?

Even if you only have one day for Yellowstone, it's absolutely worth it. You can still see some of the best places including the Old Faithful Geyser, Grand Prismatic Spring, and Yellowstone Canyon. In addition, you are likely to see bison and other wildlife. You can take a day tour to Yellowstone or visit on your own.

How far apart is Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Park?

With Yellowstone National Park and Grand Teton National Park being just 31 miles apart, the two parks make for an incredible weeklong road trip.

Where should I stay to see Grand Tetons and Yellowstone?

Where to stay: Jackson Lake Lodge or Colter Bay Village are just north of Moran and offer easy driving access to both the Tetons and Yellowstone. Rent a charming historic cabin right on the lake at Colter Bay Village, or stay in one of the well appointed, eco-friendly rooms at Jackson Lake Lodge.
