Exhaust for 2005 jeep grand cherokee

For over 40 years, BORLA® has been the go-to exhaust Jeep owners have aspired to own. Our BORLA® R&D engineers developed a direct bolt-on exhaust that, being manufactured out of lightweight aircraft grade T-304 stainless steel, approaches half the weight of the stock system. This system also features oversized tubing and a 14” long BORLA® embossed 4” round rolled edge bright chrome on T-304 stainless steel tip. Part #140158 exhibits a great V8 growl, significant performance upgrades and perhaps an even more interesting attribute today – increased fuel mileage.

BORLA® takes pride in manufacturing all exhaust components from premium, high-quality T-304 austenitic stainless steel, which is extremely durable and ideal for the off-road as well as normal highway use. BORLA® backs up the quality of their exhaust with the best warranty in the industry. No trick words or hidden phrases to mislead, just a simple Million Miles on the entire BORLA® exhaust. If you have driven your all-wheel- drive Jeep with BORLA® exhaust less than that, we have you covered…..it is that good!

Warranty Valve Note: BORLA only warranties moving parts, such as valves and actuators for one year. This system includes functioning active exhaust valves, similar to those in the stock exhaust, and is recommended for most customers. Active exhaust valves in this system will improve sound quality.

Warranty Valve Simulator Note: BORLA only warranties moving parts, such as valves and actuators for one year. This system includes active exhaust valve simulators and is recommended for cars with significant modifications. The active exhaust valves in the stock exhaust have been removed, valve simulator mounts on the outside of the pipe allow the stock valve motors to be re-attached to prevent an error code.

Warranty Finish Note: BORLA exhaust systems are covered under our Million-Mile warranty with the following exceptions. Borla will warranty black coatings, tip finishes, and carbon fiber parts for one year.

Exhaust for 2005 jeep grand cherokee

1.0 out of 5 stars Good quality, not good fit on my car.

The pipes are good quality and heavy gauge. The fit or the pipes is not good as it hits against the frame unless you add another exhaust insulator above the axle and the angle of the tailpipe led to bumper damage from the heat.

It's definitely not an exact fit, but I made it work. You'll need a 4" C-clamp to make the 2 1/2" fastening clamp fit bc it's so snug that it flexes out. I used a reciprocating saw to cut the rusted bolts, pipes, and hangers off. Use a sharpie to mark where the pipes connect so you know you're fully connected. Kit doesn't come with bolts for connecting the muffler, so I bought 2 hefty hex bolts, lock washers, nuts ($5.66). On my 2009 Jeep Grand Cherokee, the mid-pipe hanger wasn't right - several inches too short, but the tail pipe was good. Problem I had was the tail pipe was blowing right into the rear bumper - the pipe isn't aligned right and is too short. Most of the job is getting the rusty junk off and then doing some mods with the hanger and extending the tailpipe. Sound is OEM. Saved money.

Used it on my 06 hemi jeep commander and it works great except I needed to but a 12" turn down extension to get it bast the rear bumper. Super quiet with no rumble at all (perfect for me), the bends look like they were done by middle schoolers in shop class but for the price I am not complaining.

Muffler has wrong flange on intake side. The muffler I removed has a male flange, muffler I installed has a female flange. After install exhaust leaks. Female to female flange leaks.

A very good muffler and great fit except at the very tail and incorrect clamps. I may have clamped on incorrectly but the exhaust was blowing too much on the back bumper as others have noted. I added an extension to blow exhaust down to fix problem. The muffler does its job and has a little "growl" to it. At first i thought this to be an issue, but as I have learned, many with 6 cylinders appreciate the aggressive sound.

The good parts: price, muffler seems oe quality
The bad: missing hangers, is a bit short (need a tip), the over the axle connection was flared too large (had to buy a larger clamp)
I went into the purchase expecting some of this but the lack of hangers was a bummer. There was a spot that looked like they may have welded one on but it wasn’t there or in the box (so would have broke off regardless).
Anyways, if you have a welder and a lift and some idea what your doing this saves a lot of money and time but it is NOT acceptable to just bolt up the included parts and call it good.

Happy customer, purchased this muffler at an excellent price. Installation was easy maybe 2 hours. One of the claps should be bigger lost time refactoring one just buy one separate. Car sounds very good and quite.

For a little over half a year my 2006 grand Cherokee with the 4.7 v8 had no muffler at all and installing this made it so quiet my garage door opener was louder! definitely order two 2.5" u bolt exhaust clamps as the ones that come with it are too small, but all the pieces were bent perfectly and lines up no problem, definitely a 5 star product at a wonderful price.

07 Commander. I emailed seller with some questions and never heard back. The hangers it comes with would not work with Jeep. Also had some bent pipe at the connections that I assume is now causing the back clamp to rattle even after tightening multiple times. This got me thru inspection but I had to buy new mopar hangers, bolts to attach to CC, and bigger clamps. Also deal with the headache of trying to figure out why it is still rattling. With a little product support this exhaust probably would have been a good deal. Instead it was not worth the extra hassle.
