If the exterior handles on your Jeep Wrangler are damaged, old, or you simply want to upgrade these pieces, you can install them at home easily. Be aware that the process may vary slightly depending on the specific model of the Jeep and the replacement handles.

• Make sure the windows are up, then remove the window crank handle, if applicable, and the car doors interior panel. Peel back the film under the panel so that you can access the lock system.
• Using a screwdriver, take off the clips that keep the assembly attached to the inner lock, and push the toothed, metal retainers upward on the side of the handle that were secured by the clips. The handle will now be loose from the door.
• Install your new exterior handle by loosely reattaching the clips to the sides of the new handle and inserting the handle into the door.
• Push the retainers back into position from top to bottom, and secure them by pushing the clips into place. Make sure the handle is in tightly to prevent water from entering the system and keep it from rattling when driving.
• Reconnect the latch rod and lever, then replace the plastic film and interior panel.
