There have been a lot of reports that the new update is deleting characters. Players have flocked to reddit to complain that their Xbox One characters have been wiped by the most recent update. The problem seems to be almost exclusively affecting the Xbox One version of the game. If you’re on PC or PS4, your character is almost definitely safe. Massive doesn’t quite know what is causing the problem yet. It says it will be looking through each individual report to try and identify what’s going on. Unfortunately, it’s not given any suggested timescale for a fix, and we also don’t know if a server rollback to restore characters will be possible. According to Massive, we’ll have “more information as soon as we can”. Have you lost your Xbox One character because of this mess?
 PSA: do NOT delete your characters and remake them! I decided to make some changes to my Hunter, so vaulted all the armors and deleted. After rebuilding, did the guardian rises quest and approached ikora for the subclass quests to find them broke! The arc one was given to me but now step 2 will not complete. I don’t use that character for main questing. Thats my Warlock’s job. But yea it has not removed itself yet tho.
Never liked hunter to be honest, but the builds for Solar 3.0 on Hunter and Void and solar for the titan and warlock basically renders the Kinetic weapon as obsolete (unless you can turn it into a solar or void weapon via the Grenade, like the exotic Sidearm 'Traveller's Chosen'), where the Solar build needs Solar Weapons and void needs Void. Oh well, time to vault my Monte Carlo....my favourite gun. But i have a Arc Auto Rifle ready for Arc 3.0 which we all know will also render Kinetic weaponry as obsolete.

IF you get hit by arc damage and IF they allow it to synergize with arc 3.0, not all solar weaponry do, they may cause burns, but not Scorch and so on. I plan to try the Exotic Bow, which does something similar, but with its catalyst, you just need an arc ability kill or something like that. Overall, i am getting bored, with how specialized they have made the subclasses, you need solar weapons for solar 3.0 to shine and void for void 3.0 to shine.......rendering Kinetics obsolete. I wonder if they plan to get rid of Kinetic Weaponry entirely at this rate.
D2 started with double primary, so kinetics will never go away. I sortof understand you, but also I like the synergies to the subclass changes. Also wonders how Thunderlord will pair with arc 3.0

I run with Sunshot or Ace of Spades as a primary on my solar Titan, AoS still holds up just fine. Harmonious & Kinetic mods slotted in the head, takes 4 energy, combine that with a solar power weapon and you can make orbs off each gun. If you like to change thing's up like myself, use a stasis based helmet, then swap out the kinetic mod for the stasis one to make orbs (same points), allows you to now run with a solar special weapon and stasis primary/ power weapons. Got a similar setup with my void Hunter, works a treat.
I like the changes too, its a nice change, but it makes each build specialised, which means you can't just keep the weapons and the armour (except the exotic obviously) and use another subclass, like going from Void to Solar or Arc....when Arc 3.0 lands, it will be the same thing.....arc weapon or be gimped.

But to use solar 3.0 and void 3.0, you need a weapon of your subclass, which i am sure Arc 3.0 will be the same and unless your Kinetic Weapon as Osmosis, it will NOT be used....much, if at all outside of the Gunsmith's Bounties.
Keep in mind MOST of the time what weapons you have make no difference. Now in raids, dongeuns, master/GM’s thats a diff story. Im sure kinetics will be used quite often in day to day, crucible, etc.
With that setup I mentioned you will always have a gun matching your subclass, it just won't always be a primary weapon. So in your case you could run with Monte Carlo, Plug One and Half truths (for example) and still have it be viable.
