According to the product specialist at Procter and Gamble (Swiffer’s parent company) that I spoke to, the cleaner that comes with the WetJet Wood contains a drying agent that allows the solution to dry faster.

If wood flooring is wet for too long, the moisture can cause warping or cupping. Because the Swiffer WetJet Wood cleaning solution dries quickly, it is a better option for hardwood floors.

Softer Mop Pads

The softness of the mop pads varies between the Swiffer WetJet and WetJet Wood.

The Swiffer WetJet Wood mop pads are made with hardwood flooring in mind. The pads are softer and are gentler during cleaning, so you don’t have to worry about damaging the wood.

The truth is, the Swiffer WetJet and WetJet Wood are more similar than they are different.

Both have the same mop base, both are battery-operated, and you assemble and use both the same way. They also have some downsides in common.

In this section, I’ll review the features that you get with both models.

Mop Base

Both Swiffer products come with the same mop base, which is convenient because if you already have one, you can switch out the solution and mop pads to fit your specific needs.

For instance, if you have the Swiffer WetJet but need to clean wood floors, the wood solution fits into the regular WetJet mop model.

Or, if you buy the Swiffer WetJet Wood and need to clean tile floors, you can buy the regular solution and mop pads.

Instructions

Because the Swiffer WetJet and WetJet Wood mop bases are the same, the instructions for assembly and use are also the same.

The setup is easy and uncomplicated. Slide the battery compartment out to insert the batteries (included in the box).

Then, attach the two poles of the mop handle together so that they click in place. Next, insert the cleaning solution in the proper compartment (you’ll hear a click when it’s secure).

Finish by attaching the mop pad using the hooks on the bottom of the mop head.

Press the button on the mop handle to spray the cleaning solution.

Both the Swiffer WetJet and WetJet Wood come with the same accessories. Each box contains ten mop pads, one cleaning solution bottle, and batteries.

Requires Batteries

Each mop requires four batteries that are included in the starter package. They use AA batteries, so they’re easy to replace.

Extra Plastic Waste

Unfortunately, because the cleaning solutions come in a plastic container and the container is not refillable, both WetJets produce quite a bit of plastic waste. That said, you can recycle the refill solution box and the solution bottle.

The mop pads are an additional source of waste because once the mop pad gets dirty, you can’t reuse it. Swiffer recommends changing the pad after each use.

Must Use Swiffer Solution
