Can u get cash out with apple pay

If you're an Apple Pay user with access to the cardless ATMs Bank of America installed earlier this year, you might be able to withdraw cash from the machines using your phone. Reports that BoA's machines will support Cupertino's mobile wallet began circulating back in January. Now a Redditor who goes by the moniker "WhatWhatTech" successfully used Apple Pay to withdraw cash from his account through a machine in Redondo Beach, California. These cardless ATMs have an NFC logo right beside the card slot -- simply tap your phone on that logo, and you'll be prompted to key in your PIN before the screen displays all the available transaction options.

Before you get too excited, though, take note that the feature hasn't been enabled for all cardless machines just yet. Further, you can only get the ATM to spit out cash if you're using a BoA card, and you can't deposit money using the service. Still, it's worth a shot if you have access to one of them. According to BoA's website, its cardless machines now also support Samsung Pay, in addition to the Android Pay support announced in May. It's likely being rolled out slowly, as well, so don't be surprised if it doesn't work on your first try.

Can u get cash out with apple pay

Hi everyone,

I finally got apple pay set up on my phone and am in need of $100 in cash. I found a contactless ATM in my city, however when I tried to use it and seemed to be only specific to that banks account holders.

Is this the norm? If not, is there a way I can locate ATMs near me that I can withdraw from?

Otherwise, is it possible to use the cashback feature at walmart or elsewhere using apple pay?

Thanks everyone!

Yeah, it's the norm that AP at ATMs only works with that bank's customers. It's supposed to change at some point, but who knows when that'll be.

Anyway, some stores will let you do cashback with NFC, but YMMV.

I’ve been able to get cash back at Family Dollar using Apple Pay with my debit card. There is a fee though. I tried at Walgreens and it didn’t ask if I wanted cash back or for a PIN.

Thanks for the tip mate :)

I tried Walgreens as well... no prompt either. No worries, I believe I have it figured out

Definitely not Walmart, because they refuse to activate the contactless payment features already built into their terminals, but very hit or miss elsewhere. Many merchants automatically default contactless transactions to process as a credit rather than debit because, generally speaking, it's a better/faster experience for the customer, though not what you want this one time.

Yes, it’s the norm. As opposed to withdrawals using the physical card, NFC withdrawals offer no network support. This means you can only use apple pay to make withdrawals using a debit card issued by the same bank the ATM belongs to, but not with a debit card from another bank.

You can get cash back at Home Depot as well as Market 32/Price Chopper if you have those in your area.

Retailer such as Rite Aid offer cash withdrawal. Chase and Bank of America also allow u to withdraw cash using Apply Pay, no card required.

This post is almost 2 years old but I appreciate the reply regardless 😁

Just tried a chase bank and it wouldn’t let me use the Apple Cash on my phone to get cash out

if you have wells fargo or chase, most banks now have a digital option, as long as your card is stored in your wallet, as long as you know your pin, then you can withdraw cash as normal at the large majority of ATMs.
