The album is good. That's why I bought it. Problem is I bought it used (perhaps my mistake) so it skips on about 5 of the songs, despite it being listed in "good" condition. It's playable. It's not like ALL the songs skip. But it's definitely enough to make the listening experience a tad irritating.

As for the album ITSELF, it's pretty good. Not a 5, but still good, with classics such as "#1 Stunna" and "Get Your Roll On." Another hidden gem on here (the reason I first bought the album 20 years ago) is "We Ain't Stoppin." Juvenile starts that song off hard about 11 seconds in with a quick first verse. Love it. "Rocky" is another good one.

If you don't mind spending the money to get it brand new, I'd recommend that so you can hear it without scratches or skips. It's a decent record.

"I got that work" is one of Cash Money records' greats albums. Everyone were on top of their game on this one – both in term of production (handled by the legendary Mannie Fresh) and in terms of rapping. Now, it's well known that the Big Tymers are not the best rappers around. Actually, Baby is kinda awful and borderline embarrassing on some of his verses, but overall he does a good job here (much better than his rapping in the last 10 years or so). Mannie Fresh is a much better rapper, both with his flow and his lyrics. But all throughout the album, the Big Tymers are assisted by the Hot Boys, and they do a tremendous job!! Juvenile and Lil Wayne deliver some of their best verses ever, and of course B.G and Turk do not disappoint as well (it's just that their presence is less felt). So it feels more like an album from the whole label's roster. This album feels to me like a celebration of life and success, it has that happy feel to it. You know what those guys are about – having money, the best cars, the best jewelry, and a whole lot of bad b****es as well. But they deliver their verses in the most entertaining way possible. Maybe just one song is a bit heavier on that gangsta sh** and it's track 17 "Big Tymers". It features one of the hardest and darkest beats ever created by Mannie Fresh, and it's definitely a highlight. There are so many great and classic songs here, and you can say that ALL of the songs are either good or great (most of the songs are great). No fillers, no dissapointments. Cash Money were at their best in terms of creativity and effort put into their songs. Mannie Fresh's production is definitely a highlight here, the guy is a genius, and his beats are so complex and multi-layered, it's just incredible! This is just a fun album to listen to, do not expect to get mind-blowing lyricism or rhyme patherns, but expect to sit back and enjoy about 70 minutes of some of the best Down South rap music ever recorded.

Guess I was living in Northern California for too long or something, which seems to be in some kind of twilight zone as far as the rest of the country's music is concerned, Bay Area does its thing everyone else does theirs, maybe some creative borrowing goes on, I am not one to judge (Except, if you ask me, Vallejo is definitely part of the Bay Area, contrary to some opinions, though I know, mine doesn't count since I am not from the bay area).

In any case I never even heard this album until last year but I can see why it is regarded as something of a classic, not least of all because of Mannie Fresh's uncanny production skills, I still can listen to these for the 5th time, 10th time, (or instrumentals) and still hear new things, he really has a magic touch, and great lyrics from everyone to go with it, Big Tymers always had some of the best lyrics about cars.

Only complaint: vinyl please! Ill be first in line to buy a copy...

2、4、10曲目はキャッシュマネーらしさが出ててやはりマニー・フレッシュの腕が光っています。しかし他の曲は98年あたりの勢いが感じられずに少しガッカリしました。でも全体的にはどの曲も聴けます。
