Mayfest is the biggest party in Fort Worth! Four days of live music, festival food, carnival rides, performing arts, pet adoptions, more than 60 Art and Gift Market vendors, free children's activities, special attractions - the list goes on and on! Held on the first weekend in May on 33 glorious acres in Fort Worth's Trinity Park, Mayfest is one event you won't want to miss!

Mayfest is produced by Trinity Collaborative, Inc., a 501(c) 3 organization. The proceeds from each year’s festival are given back to the community in support of programs from three of Mayfest’s founding organizations – The Junior League of Fort Worth, Inc., Streams & Valleys, Inc., and The City of Fort Worth Park and Recreation Department. Trinity Collaborative, Inc. is proud to have given back more than $7.5 million to benefit the city of Fort Worth and it’s citizens.

We invite you to visit the charming St. Croix River town of Afton, MN for the annual two-day outdoor fine arts and makers market take place in Afton’s quaint, Town Square Park with over 90 vendors showcasing fine arts, pottery, woodwork, jewelry, photography, sculpture, fiber, and more. Plus great food and 2 days of live music!

This upper Midwest favorite art festival is hosted by the Afton Area Business Association and will bring 10,000+ guests through the St. Croix River Valley during the 2-day event.

This week’s episode of The Independent Artist Podcast features Humanitarian Photographer and Fine Artist, Lisa Kristine. When approached to document modern-day slavery, she was troubled by what was hidden in plain sight. Stroll the sidewalks of Main Street in the Village of Afton… meeting Artisans and Crafters as they display, demonstrate and sell their hand-crafted treasures and home-grown / home-made treats!

Strut the lawns of the Afton Fairgrounds… talking to automotive artists enthusiastically showing their vintage cars, motorcycles, tractors, trucks and more!

Swing and Sing with the bands… enjoying music from 7 bands and 2 disc jockeys… and lively activities at 4 venues!

The Greater Afton Area Chamber of Commerce is bringing back the 2-day Afton Arts & Crafts Festival, restoring it to its decade’s old roots! Being held August 20-21, artisans of all genres are being invited to participate! Lining the village sidewalks with everything from pottery, photography, floral arrangements, needlework, epoxy creations, from quilts and woodcarvings, to performing arts and musicians. 

MEET & GREET ART EXHIBIT with ERNESTINE BUCKING

The Afton Art Show was started 50 years ago, founded by Austrian artist, Ernestine Bucking, internationally renown for her “Romantic Realism” paintings. We have invited her to return and be celebrated! See her Art Exhibit! Students, art collectors and fans alike…. will want to attend a lightly catered open house style Meet & Greet, Saturday, August 20, 3:00-6:00pm at The River Club Restaurant in Afton. She will be giving away greeting cards and prints to paid attendees! Ernestine has graciously donated her “Spring in North Carolina” Acrylic painting, 32″ x 32″ Value $3,400 to be sold by raffle tickets, at $10 each, with the drawing in October. Be a Vendor!

Sell your hand-crafted, hand-made or home-grown items!  Rent a 10′ x 10’ booth. Vendors that apply before August 6 will be placed on the special event PRINTED program and map. Vendor fees of $45 for one day, or $75 for two days, helps to cover expenses of advertising, marketing and printing for this large event. 

Art Contest:

At the Southern Tier Art Contest in the newly opened Hub “gallery” on Main Street, YOU get to vote for The People’s Choice Awards for Painting and Photography! The formal judged contest awards will be given for Best in each Category, and Best in Show. Prizes donated by BLICK Art Materials, and GOLDEN Paint Colors!

Student Art Show:

All Greater Afton Area/Home School Students up to Grade 12 are encouraged to showcase their schoolwork and hobbies. Submit your displayable art (including clay projects, paintings, photographs, colored pencil, pen-and-ink sketches, paper Mache, etc.).
As of August 18, here are over 150 art projects on display!

Reminisce with Antique Vehicles…

The Classics Cruise-In embraces the theme of “looking back at our memories,” with antique cars, motorcycles, tractors and trucks, held at the Afton Fairgrounds. There will also be Sounds Unlimited, DJ Frank from the Sertoma Stage each day from 9:00-4:00pm. Prizes for attendees and more! Register your vintage vehicles today! Free to enter and attend!

Get Great Exposure as a Festival Sponsor!

Palette Gem Sponsorships are: Diamond $2,500; Ruby $1,000; Emerald $500; Topaz $250; and Amethyst $100. Each includes Chamber membership! This is a non-profit organization hosting a non-profit event, so every donation is welcome and greatly appreciated! 

Live Entertainment:

Each day hosts different family-friendly bands and a DJ! Enjoy artisans and crafters along the sidewalks, doing demonstrations, kids activities… plus performing artists including NATE THE GREAT, David Black Magician, Jerry Keebler balloon artist, face painters, and the Tri-Town Theatre performers with activities for the kids….

Eat, Drink & Be Merry!

Food vendors, exhibitors and concessions will be in the Village and at the Fairgrounds. Yummy treats include BBQs, ice cream, hot dogs, granola, hot buttered popcorn, funnel cakes, lemonade, artisan adult and childrens drinks made with mead and honey… oh, and wine!

There will be plenty of FREE open parking at the Afton Fairgrounds, where the Classics Cruise-In will be!
FREE van shuttle (Thank you First Baptist Church) and Festival Express school bus (Thank you sponsor Coventry Transport Service and Afton Central School) will be provided from the Fairgrounds to the Village for the Festival. 

Park at the Afton Fairgrounds and Driving Park.
Exit I-88 at Afton exit #7, toward ROUTE 41. Turn left at ROUTE 41. Turn Left at EVELYN AVENUE, into the Driving Park.

The mission of the Festival has always been to draw families and visitors to the sidewalks of Afton for appreciation, education and participation in the Arts. There’s something for everyone!
