What is the axle nut torque spec?

Generally, jam nuts less than 2-5/8" should be torqued to 200-300 lbf-ft; nuts 2-5/8" and over should be torqued to 250-400 lbf-ft. See chart for exact torque specification. The final step is to use a dial indicator to verify the end play or free movement of the tire and wheel assembly along the spindle axis.

What is the torque spec on hub assembly?

For some hub units, the final torque specification can range from 150 to 350 ft/lbs depending on the application. Accurately tightening nut is critical to set the load paths for the bearings. But you must trust your torque wrench. Torque wrenches designed for lug nuts typically have an upper limit of 190 to 200 ft/lbs.

Is axle nut torque important?

It is important that you properly torque the spindle nut to ensure optimum bearing life. Under torque of an axle nut will allow excessive movement causing uneven loading and excessive wear.
