My instrument panel oil pressure indicator comes on when rpm's drop below 1k and stopped with a ding. I just had the oil changed within six weeks. Dip stick ok. I suspect a bad sensor. Yes?

Quite possibly. Its one of those things that I wouldn't feel comfortable without having checked the oil pressure with a mechanical gauge before assuming all was well with the sensor.

Do you have any engine noise? noisy lifters, a knock?

Engine is running perfectly. No unusual noises or vibrations or hesitations or variations in idle. Running smooth as silk, as they say all across the rpm spectrum.

I am assuming if you pull the connector on the oil pressure sender you will see that the sender is leaking. I personally still like to verify oil pressure (makes me feel better). BUT, with hydraulic lifters, they get pretty noisy with no oil pressure. It is likely a sender issue.

I forgot to add the oil level is right on the money. It does not mark it's territory. Where is the sensor located? Is it easy to get too? I have a FSM but I can't locate where the sender is in the manual.

The oil pressure sensor sits just below the oil filter.

Can I drive with a low oil pressure sensor?

You should not take this situation lightly, as it is an indication that your engine has lost normal oil pressure. If you see this light on, we highly suggest that you stop driving your vehicle immediately and turn off your engine. Driving with this light on your dash can cause severe, irreversible engine damage.
