08 chevy malibu door lock problems

Have the automatic door locks stopped working… especially when it’s hot? Three of the four power door locks on my 2008 Chevy Malibu LT got worse and worse over time until they completely quit. Turns out these parts are known to frequently fail when hot. Unfortunately, the door latch, door lock mechanism, solenoid, and cable are all a single assembly. I paid about $125 for each of the three assemblies. Once you figure out how to remove the door panel and pony up for the new latch assemblies, the job is fairly simple and doing it yourself will save you a lot of cash.

O, my passenger doorlock switch works to unlock, but I guess it was broken cause you cant push it down to lock, its already down as far as it goes, like it was smashed down or something, but you can push it up to lock, ok. Wellmy question is, the driver side doorlock switch is the problem, the switch is ok with pushing it up and down, but there is no power in it, when you click it up or down it doesnt do anything, no noise or anything.I tried the fuses and even the relay but that didnt do the job, I tried a couple different techniques like holding the buttom up or down while opening and closing it to see if it locked but no, so I guess that takes away the wiring being messed up, but not possitive. Is there anything I can try to get it to work, or do you already know whats wrong with it, and if so how do I fix it if possible. Ty and hope to hear from you guys soon. Rj

Why is my car door not locking and unlocking?

A malfunctioning logic board or a break in the wire could cause problems. If the lock and unlock function works intermittently, there could be an electrical short in the system due to the plastic insulation of the wire being worn down. If it has ceased to function at all, the wire could be broken.
