Offline | Her mother cracked while trying to protect from the dark forces which caused her father to take her brother and leave home. She convinced herself that she would not be in this position if Chise had never been born. Then she despaired of life when she thought that she had killed Chise |
Offline | The tragedy here is that Chise's mother is alone in her efforts to protect and support her daughter and was completely overwhelmed by the struggle. Just like someone losing touch with reality due to mundane mental illness, she succumbs to the dark whispers that constantly surround her. |
Offline | Tragic, Chise's mother succumbed to self loathing after the departure of her son and husband. In her self loathing nature she blamed herself for all of her perceived past failures ignoring all of her daughters successes. At some point this became a Sisyphusian struggle that she couldn't overcome. |

Offline | This one was really good! The interesting part is that neither did her Father actually leave her behind, neither did her mother hate her. If you notice - when he was leaving with her brother he considered taking her with him - if he wanted to run off with the brother and leave them both behind, he would have never contemplated taking Chise with him. I'm fairly certain that something bad happened to the father and brother. And the eye thing...OH GOD THE EYE THING.....I hope it gets reversed before next chapter, Joseph seems utterly corrupt to the bone and it's like she put the corruption inside her. :| |
Offline | the dad definitely knows something and is probably coming back at some point. My guess is that the cat was either a mage or a wizard. I'm still holding onto the hope that this eye change won't be permanent... also elias when |

The guilt of attempting to do what Chise's mother did let her make the decision to commit suicide in the end. I am absolutely gutted and I feel so sorry for both. :( Stay Home and Wash Your Hands. |

Now, I'm earger to discover what happened with her dad and brother! |

Offline | I think this chapter, despite the fact it's tragic, is great. It explains her mother's POV for the most part of why things paved out the way they did leading up to her death. For she herself was a Slay Vega too. I do have various inquiries and that's mostly because when you compare her Slay Vega (which I assume she is since she has experienced the same things Chise has), and Chise's, they are so different in terms of third party support. Like where was the college for her mother?? All these people that will do anything for a Slay Vega, where the hell are they at? How did her mother live to be able to marry, and give birth twice, and presumably live to her 30s? Why was her live longer than what's anticipated for Slay Vega's? As for her father, I don't think he necessarily left because he was tired of everything. That just doesn't seem right and I say that because it seems way too obvious of a reason for this type of story. I think he was probably given a choice, and it has to deal with that black cat. For him to leave like that, when he seemed okay protecting them, he was probably given a choice that greatly outweighed the other. Something like "If you stay, they all will die and you will live; but if you leave, only 1 of you will die", something like that. Because I mean, he knew everything and you don't go into that kind of relationship without taking risks, so he was probably in this for the long run. That's why I can't convince myself he just left because "he was sick of it". He even said ASKED if Chise wanted to come and said he would come back for them one day. Although it can be said "well he said nevermind when he asked that question knowing the struggle would continue taking her with them", I get that, I thought about that too. There's just so many holes lol as perusal. |
Offline | For everyone asking about the collage we have no indication they have a Japanese branch. We only have confirmation on London and America as for friendly neighbors japan has almost no good creatures in their legends unlike other areas basically everything in japan that’s mystical wants to kill you |
