Often overlooked, the Hyatt Place San Antonio Riverwalk is actually one of the best hotels you'll find in downtown San Antonio. They're more affordable than many of the upscale hotels, but still, have all of the amenities families expect from a brand such as Hyatt. One of the perks of this hotel is its ideal location. You can hop on the King William stretch of the riverwalk and be in the midst of all the downtown excitement within minutes - such as restaurants, riverboats and shopping or head into the quaint little arts district known as Southtown, where you'll find even more shops, restaurants and even family-friendly bars like the Friendly Spot!

Recommended for Riverwalk because: The Valencia is a modern boutique hotel with superb customer service. Make sure to try their refreshing summer poptails and special poptail room package!

Everyone needs to visit the Riverwalk at least once. The boat tours are great and very informational. Is it a "must do" everytime I visit...no, but it is a great place to go to eat and get souvineers.

  • the River Walk is great - but crowded. If you go in the summer, prepare to sweat profusely. Besides being hot, it is also so humid you'll feel like you just got out of a shower. Also, if you are drinking, remember there are very few guard rails along the river walk, so be careful not to get too tipsy and fall in!

  • OOweeee! The Riverwalk. I loved this place. We were fortunate enough to stay right on the river and it was beyond my greatest expectations. So well done. So clean. Such good food and shopping. Loved it. Highly recommend it. Ride the boats.

  • Beautiful to walk around and a lot of History with the Alamo. Not many kid friendly things to do but on one street the Haunted House Mirror Maze which were awesome and there was 2 more places for kids but mostly for adults. Being from Louisiana it reminded me of a clean New Orleans

  • Really lively. A lot to do...and spend money on. Could definitely use some handrails or something along the side of the river. The walking area was really small in some places for the amount of people there

  • Jakob United Arab Emirates

    • I wouldn't stay there for more than a couple of days, but the river walk is very pretty, and there are lots of bars and restaurants around.
