2.0 out of 5 stars Bassinet is not good

Reviewed in Canada on 29 June 2022

Style: W/ Bassinet InsertColor: KagenVerified Purchase

I bought this playard for the bassinet, as my 3 months old baby is not yet ready to stay on its lowest level. I'm so disappointed:

1) Nowhere in the description of the item here it says that the maximum weight of the baby you can put in the bassinet is 6.8 kg. My baby is 7 kg, so it makes it useless?
2) The safety of the bassinet is questionable. If something fails and the bassinet falls with the baby in it, his back will be injured badly, as there's a big metal frame right under him, not covered by anything except for a thin layer of plastic. I will be putting blankets and pillows under the bassinet as it's really scary.
3) The bassinet is curved when the baby is in it and it doesn't stay flat and straight, rather takes on a "smiley" shape like a hammock. He can't do tummy time there and it is just uncomfortable laying like that. Toys don't stay upright and slide to the middle.
4) All sides of the playard are made of mesh but only 2 sides of the bassinet are made of mesh, the short sides are not see through. It defeats the purpose as I got this so that my baby could see me walking around from all angles.

I'm very disappointed with the bassinet, hopefully when we can use the playard without it, it will be better. If you need a bassinet, do yourself a favor and get something else.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excelente calidad y a un precio muy accesible.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Worry Free Option!

I did have to look up a video on how to assemble, because there is a trick to it, albeit simple. You have to lock the sides in place before you push down the middle of the bottom. To release, pull up bottom and then release the locked sides. I will be uploading a video on how to! I’m almost 7 months pregnant and was able to put it together myself in 15 minutes. It’s a bit heavy but I rather that then something flimsy. Packs up nicely and able to travel so well. Will be our traveling crib/play area, and my bed side “bassinet” after baby is born.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sleeps for hours

This is a convenient little pack n' play that works well as an extra crib. My grandchildren have slept for hours when I 've put them down in it. For infants, you can rock them, almost like a hammock. As the baby gets older, it's a cozy little crib to have around that allows the baby to look around, through the mesh sides, as they fall asleep. There are wheels on the outside that make it easy to move from one room to the other and a sweet little mobile that comes with it. Great piece of baby equipment that lasts.

I love this pack n play! The bassinet feature is great! It is big enough for my 6 month of to roll side to side in. He is 63cm long for reference. Size wise the entire thing is a normal pack n play size in my opinion. The dimensions are correct in the description. The mattress that it comes with is firm but soft! My normal crib sheets fit pretty well too. It’s very easy to travel with as well.

Can I use Graco Pack N play as a crib?

Can a newborn baby sleep in a Pack N Play? Yes! Just like bassinets and cribs, playards are federally regulated for infant sleep. It's perfectly fine to use a Pack N Play instead of a crib or a bassinet.

Are there any recalls on Graco pack and play?

More than 51,000 Pack 'N Play Sleepers have been recalled by Graco, a leading infant products company. The decision to recall the product comes on the heels of the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Administration linking inclined infant sleepers with possible suffocation deaths.

Do pack'n Plays expire?

Many parents wonder if Pack 'n Play expires as car seats do. The answer is no, Pack 'n Plays do not expire! However, although manufacturers do not officially advocate for an expiration date, they strongly recommend following all up-to-date safety requirements.

Are all Graco Pack N Plays the same size?

Pack 'n Plays comes in many sizes, but most have a standard size, with the mattress measuring around 27-inches by 39-inches.
