2012 jeep grand cherokee transfer case motor clicking

Just let others know, I got a quote from a Jeep dealer - the transfer case control module is $473. That's cheaper than I expected because they seem to be around $200-350USD. Maybe that new 'lower parts prices' advertising campaign is for real. Unfortunately it isn't stocked in Aus and delivery is typically 6 weeks.

Installation however is $586. Sounds pretty expensive for plugging in a module under the seat. I've heard they do and don't need programming, and also that an import one will definitely need programming. Don't know which to believe.

Thinking I will ask the dealer again, order the part and attempt install myself, then go to them if it doesn't work for me.
